This was the other traditional pub we hit while visiting Bath.
First off, I have to day I'm a sucker for traditional funky Pubs and this place definitely fits the bill.
You walk in and there is a small bar area in the front. What I loved about this place was the collection of tap labels. I could have spent a few minutes just checking out that stuff and gawking like a tourist.
We ended up sitting in a wood-panelled room in the back for non-smokers (with a fireplace) as I didn't feel like busting out a cigar. They had a decent selection (to my limited frame of reference) of real ales on cask five or six I believe. I had a harder time finding this place than the Star as we actually found it quite by accident!

Small in stature, big on everything else. The best 'Touristified' pub in Bath by far, and there are plenty for the unwary.

Three, almost cosy (but not chocolate box mushy), oak panelled rooms make up the pub, which is in a 300 year old building. WW11 Airplane pictures dominate the front (lounge) room, the rear is non-smoking, the others join it soon!

The clientele is a mix of tourists and well off locals, no riff-raff in here matey, but a happy combination on my two visits, everyone chatting and getting along fine.

Good quality cask ales, a changing choice of 4 or 6 depending on the season and how many tourists are in town.

Bath is a popular cask ale pub crawl city, this pub is on every crawlers list, that is not by chance, it is a very good pub. If visiting Bath (for whatever reason), a trip here is a must for any BA.

Visited in 9/05 while on vacation from the US with my girlfriend. This place is a small, traditional English pub (established circa 1716), located 4 or 5 short blocks from the main tourist part of town (the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, etc.) and a 10 minute walk from the train station. We first went here when we were looking for lunch, and it didn't look like a food place, so we went elsewhere. (I later found out that they serve food at lunch, and that it's quite good, but we missed that). Came back in the late afternoon and settled in for a couple of pints.

This old place has 3 very small rooms, one up front, a middle bar, and a very nice wood-panelled room in the back for non-smokers. I counted 6 ales on cask (this day, it was Green Tree Bitter 3.7%, Brandoak 4%, Pitchfork 4.3%, Otter Ale 4.5%, Abbey White Friar 5%, and Wickwar Dr. Perrett's Stout 5.9%) one cider, and Budvar lager on tap, plus some bottled beers that I didn't pay attention to. I had a pint each of the White Friar and the Green Tree, and Alice had the stout. A pleasant conversation with a couple from Ottawa, Canada indicates that this place is frequented by tourists, but the crowd around the bar (in very tight quarters) indicates that it's also a local haunt.

Service was fine, no complaints, but nothing to get excited about either.

Listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and on the Bath Pub Tour, this place is a very nice place to soak up some very good English atmosphere, enjoy some very good real ale, and relax. Recommended.
