OK, so it's obviously a wine store. That said, once you've made your way through the racks and racks of vino, there is a (beautiful) large walk-in for beer at the back. The selection doesn't focus so much on breadth as it does on depth; a few breweries are featured but done so in great detail. Almost all of the bottled offerings from Goose Island and Two Brothers are here not to mention a large selection of Boston Brewing Co., Capital, Ska! and a few others which escape me.

The help is geared towards wine, but the service is friendly (and female, a rarity in this field!) and able to answer most questions readily.

The prices weren't great, but then again, they weren't bad either.

A quick note: as of a few weeks ago (mid-November 2006), there was still a large stash of Bell's Oberon and Amber for all you Illinois Bell's lovers.

Stopped in here today, to survey the walk-in beer cooler. The shop is located in a shopping center with 2 grocery stores, and 2 wine shops. The listing on BA was old, for "Cabernet & Co." which moved out 2 years ago. Peterson is the new name, and they have 3 locations in the area.

Beer was in the rear of the store, in a walk in cooler on the right. Some wine rack shelving in front of the windowed cooler, with about 10 varieties of bombers stacked horizontally.

The walk-in had a pretty good selection, nothing crazy really. Founders Centennial, Metro Flywheel, 2 Bros Cane & Ebel, BCBS/Sofie/Matilda, Bells, GLBC, Ska Modus Hoperandi & Euphoria, and random imports, the best were Weihenstephaner, Chimay, & Duvel.

Cashier was nice, and cleared up the history of the place as "Cabernet & Co." Better selection than TJ's next door, but not overly extensive in the scheme of things.

this place is mostly a wine shop but also has a small walk-in cooler featuring mostly domestic micros and some imports along with a couple bmc selections. two brothers, goose island, flying dog, etc. were available. again, not a huge selection. also a small cheese counter here. service was helpful and the store is quite clean, i doubt you'd get old or mistreated product here. prices are reasonable for the area. not a destination to go for beer but if you're grocery shopping at the markets nearby and need some beer you'll be able to find something decent here.
