I always have a great time here. Good food that is half off on Fridays and a great beer selection on tap. They even have Michelob Ultra on tap for the wife. We both enjoy coming here one or twice per month. Looking forward to our next visit!

12/24/2010 at about 5:20pm Stoped in had a few pints . The sign out front stated 45 beers on tap that got my hopes up. The place is old and rustic with a few pool tabels. Walked up to the bar and yes they had 45 taps of mostly craft beer, but the selection could of been better, I counted only four taps that served Texas breweries, no 512 tap. They did have Racer 5. DFH 60 Min. SN Celebration Ale, BLANCHE DE BRUXELLES that was ordered as the little boy piss beer due to the tap handle and lack of knowlage of the bartender. The Bartender Could not answer any of my qustions regarding breweries or the styles of beer she was serving. ABV? There were about 20 people in the place and she seemed overwhelmed. I did not stay long it was a let down overall I did not feel beer was geting the focus or respect it is due.

This place has all of Real Ale's beers on tap. They have other things that you don't see everywhere on tap, like Arrogant Bastard. Their prices are cheap as hell. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday they have 2.50 domestic pitchers. Go there early and have a pint or two of good beer and then drink the cheap as free beer the rest of the night. Their dartboards are good, but they never have a marker for the scoreboard.
PS they don't sell food anymore, also I would never trust the food coming out of this place.

Carney's is a strange creature. It looks, feels, sounds, and smells more like a backwoods roadhouse than a beer bar. However, they keep a fair number of respectable brews on tap, plus a few more bottled, including a few like Chimay in 750mL size. Don't expect to get the right kind of glass or pour for the type of beer you order. The burger I had might as well have been charcoal, but I've heard the food is reasonably good sometimes--depends on who's cooking, I guess. Free all-you-can-eat whole roasted peanuts, though. Prices are normally a bit high, but there's always something on special, and Shiner Bock is always cheap. The main reasons to visit Carney's are (1) they often have at least one or two beers you can't find elsewhere in Bryan or College Station, and (2) it's never very crowded.
