Munich and various roasted malts give it a very malty, rich flavor with a hint of burnt flavor. 100% imported Hallertau hops, moderate bitterness and aroma.

Pours a root beer brown with a one finger creamy head. Moderate lacing. Nose is of faint malt. Malty flavor with a hint of cocoa and very mild hoppiness in the back end. Moderately thin feel with moderate carbonation. Drinkable if a bit unremarkable.
Updated 12-27-17: Look is the same. Aroma is maltier than when previously reviewed. Taste is much more pronounced. I would call this very drinkable and enjoyable.

The pour is chestnut brown with a light amount of carbonation. The body is medium & the taste is roasted malt, toasted nuts, & dark raisins. Cheers! B

On draft, served in shaker pint glass
Dark mahogany in color, clear. Thin off white head that fades. Aroma and taste are a nice rich malt flavor, but not too sweet. Medium bodied.

12 oz bottle. Dark copper body with thin off-white head. Terrific malt flavor with just enough hops to counterbalance any sweetness. At 6% just a bit of alcohol bite. Nothing specifically "Christmasy" about it but all the same a great beer for the holidays.

Purchased as part of a “build your own 6 pack from Wegmans. Pours a deep ochre with a relatively thin head. Pleasant roasted malt aroma. Nutty flavor with some caramel. Moderate mouthfeel with fine carbonation. This is a really good bock. Not quite as good as Celebrator or Korbinian, but very good! I will be buying this one again!

Mild and light with a rich copper brown color. Nice carmel taste but a bit watery.

12-oz bottle purchased Dec, 2021
Glass: Hand Mug/Stange
Look:
Clear dark mahogany bordering on chestnut brown with a 2+ beige-to-tan head that dissipates to a solid covering.
Smell:
Roasted grains and toasted dark bread. Some molasses. Hints of coffee.
Taste:
Toasted caramel and pumpernickel (including the crust) with dark honey. Has hints of spices in the background. Cocoa powder notes flit in at times. Quite malty. Finishes dry with a slight astringency and an ever-so-slight bitterness
Feel:
Smooth and easy to drink with a body that shades to the lighter side of medium
Overall:
This is just a nice solid bock. Well made and balanced. This is one of my go-to Christmas beers and has been since I first had it back in the 00's. I make sure to pick at least a 6-pack (if not more) every year.

A nice rich malt character. I don't see many bocks for a good comparison, but I really liked this one.

Drinks closer to a doppelbock than a bock, and that is a good thing. Full flavored, medium body, with a crisp finish, and a touch of booziness.

Clear, dark, not much head; Mouthfeel, mild but not flat; Taste mild but flavorful; Overall, pretty good - a rating of 4 because it was a gift - Peggy got this for me because of the artwork on the label.

Pours a deep copper with a thin off-white head.
Spot on for a Bock. Very well made.
Very malty and we'll balanced.
I get notes of vanilla, caramel and sherry.
One of my favorite bocks.

L: Root beer with a hint of dark orange and a thick dark tan head that quickly dissolves into a film
S: Roasted malt, weak coffee
T: Malts, weak coffee, toast, some sort of odd sweetness that I can't pin down
F: syrupy, no dryness or bite with a syrupy film on the tongue
O: Very disappointing. This beer has received some good ratings, but mine are tolerable and nothing I would seek out again. No hops, an odd sweetness, and a syrupy feel isn't my idea of a good beer.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. No freshness dating could be found, but I feel confident in it being this year's release.
Pours like cola, dk brown body, but a rich deep amber when held up to the light. Small off white head dissipates to a thick ring and solid covering.
Deep malty aroma with some molasses notes.
Good malty beveridge, strong tasting. Light sweetness, but there is a roasty slightly bitter end.
Mouth above medium, finish that roasty bitterness.
Overall, not a style I buy too often, but this is a decent drink, slightly spoiled by the finish. Perhaps a few more weeks in the bottle would take the edge off.
