12oz bottle into a tall glass. NO freshness dating.

jet black body, small but persistent coffee with cream head. small amounts of lacing throughout.

only medium roasted malt on the nose.

The bottle claims this is reminiscent of chocolate milk, but i didnt find that to be the case. the chocolate is only a minor player here. roasted malt is the big flavor here. not an unpleasant drink, but light chocolate feel makes it a basic milk stout.

slightly below medium on the mouth, a touch of lactose and the roasted malt on the finish.

Overall, a bigger chocolate kick would have made this much more enjoyable to this particular palate. as it is, this one falls a little short.

This one lives up to the billing. It smells like sweet milk chocolate and cocoa powder. It tastes the same. Just chocolate upon chocolate. Pretty sweet, but still drinkable. Authentic flavors. It is similar to Whoppers candy with Nesquick cocoa powder. Just a enough sugar and subtle enough roasted malts to make you think it is a milk stout, but it is just a thinner bodied dessert of an Ameican Stout.

Love the chocolate look on the quickly receeding head of this beer. I can smell the chocolate and vanilla notes pouring off of this brew, pretty inviting. The flavor is similar except I'm detecting some coffee notes in addition to chocolate. There is a slight bitterness to offset the sweet notes of this beer. Mouthfeel is a bit thin with slight carbonation.

Delicious beer. Best served with a chocolate dusting on the rim on the glass

Appearance: Pours a opaque dark brown color.

Overall: The aroma is toasty with notes of cookie dough, vanilla, cream. The flavor mimics the aroma with lots of sweet chocolate, coffee and slight roasted notes. This is an excellent stout that fits the description. Its like the triple chocolate cake/milkshake of beers.

The beer pours out into a Duvel glass a dark brown color that is almost black. The 2 1/2" head is a medium tan color with with lots of small bubbles. The head soon recedes to a thick ring and a thin layer of foam on the surface, but leaving little foam clinging to the glass more than about 1/4" above the liquid. Sipping creades a few widely scattered specks of lacing, some of which turn to liquid and some of which slide back down to the liquid. Mid-way through the beer the ring of foam is small, there's little on the surface of the liquid and ony a few patches of foam and lacing here and there.

The aromas are dominated by the chocolate which reminds of semi-sweet chocolate brownies. In the background there seems to be a bit of roasted malt but not much in the way of hops.

The flavors are pretty much as expected from the nose and are dominated by the semi-sweet chocolate brownie flavor with only a hint of dark roast malt or bitterness in the background.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth with light, persistent carbonation. The finish really begins as the sweetness begins to fade and the chocolate becomes more like cocoa. Bitterness plays a very small part towards the end as the dryness emergers.

This would be a one a night beer for me as I don't think I'd want more than one in a row, but it seems a great beer to have again, especially as a form of dessert following a dinner with friends and while spending lots of time chatting and enjoying each other's company. The other thing about this beer is that drinking it without paring some cheese or other food should be avoided since otherwise it's would be a lot like eating a full plate of brownies by oneself. It simply works better with a bit of food to create a change of flavors once in a while. Looking forward to trying this beer out as a "dessert beer."
