tap
Pours jet black with little to no head.
Smells of rich milk chocolate.
Tastes like hershey chocolate syrup with only hints of grain and malt.
Mouth is water thin. No real carbonation.
A so-so stout that disappoints mostly in the lack of thickness. Much sweeter than most stouts, even in the chocolate variety. Easier to take with food than as a stand-alone. It's not bad, but there are many better chocolate stouts out there.

12 oz bottle poured into a stout glass. Pours dark, dark brown, almost black. Khaki head pours thick and then falls off to a ring. Smell is chocolate, vanilla cream, a bit of roasted malt. Taste starts sweet with flavors of chocolate and cream dominating. A bit of coffee and roasted barley comes in late. Finish is relatively clean with a bit of a Chocolate candy aftertaste. Feel is medium bodied with low carbonation, but enough bubbles to let you know it's there. Overall, if you don't like sweeter beers, I couldn't see you liking this. I think this one is good, with a flavor that lives up to the beer's name.

Loved this Chocolate Meltdown. Nice & dark, but not heavy or syrupy. A good balance of the chocolate and coffee within the malty stout and not too heavy. A definite winner!

Back at Industry, 2/13/21! Chocolate right out of the gates! I'm smelling sweet milky chocolate and getting that on the flavor as well. They've done this one right, not an artificial chocolate flavor, just good rich chocolate. A little too much bite on the tongue for me, but otherwise, excellent.

Poured from a bottle into pint glass in February 2021.
Appearance: Very dark black with a thick dark brown head. Head was about 2 fingers high, and lasted a minute. It leaves very little lacing on the glass, and ended with almost no head still on the beer.
Smell: Nice aroma of chocolate and coffee. There is also some other sweet aroma like black licorice, but overall the coffee and chocolate dominate the others. It is a very nice balance of aromas.
Taste: There is a nice balance between the coffee, chocolate, and a sweetness like licorice flavors. There is some smokie roasted flavors, some caramel and vanilla flavors, and a little amount of bitter hop flavors to enhance the taste and add some complexity. There is a mild alcohol presence, which matches the 5.5% on the label, but it is balanced nicely by the sweetness. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not too sweet. The taste is a good mix.
Mouth-feel: Medium like liquid licorice, but with a smooth body. It is a heavier mouth feel than I expected from a 5.5% porter.
This is a good, enjoyable stout, and it has a variety of flavors that adds a nice complexity to the beer. It is very smooth and enjoyable to drink. This sweetness and coffee flavors are a nice balance to the medium alcohol content.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass.
L---It was clear while being poured in direct sunlight, but it is completely opaque brown in the glass. Fluffy, khaki head with good retention and decent lacing.
S---Massive chocolate.
T---Massive chocolate.
F---Medium bodied. OK carbonation.
O---A total one-trick pony. It's got a ton of chocolate. Alright, I get it. Maybe I'm just not big on dessert beers, but I'm not big on this one.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly black pour with a finger of tannish head.
S: Roast and chocolate. Big time cocoa.
T.F: Just like it smells. Very strong milk chocolate. Lighter roast and grains. Semi-sweet and 1-dimensional, but definitely delivers the cocoa. Medium to light bodied and smooth.
O: Sweet and chocolatey... comes a bit close to the chocolate soda stout but the flavor is good. A nice little dessert beer for when you want something sweet/light.

What a sweet surprise, definitely a choco-stout to keep an eye out for...
This was a beer I picked up while visiting PA with my wife and her family. Picked it up over the summer to have it for the holidays at the end of the year. This stout has a strong scent of chocolate backed up with an almost stronger taste of the same. The look is super dark, black actually, with a tan head that dissipates quickly with no lacing. Mouthfeel is a tad watery but still full-bodied. It"s a good beer, one I'll keep an out for next summer...

12oz bottle into a tall glass. NO freshness dating.
jet black body, small but persistent coffee with cream head. small amounts of lacing throughout.
only medium roasted malt on the nose.
The bottle claims this is reminiscent of chocolate milk, but i didnt find that to be the case. the chocolate is only a minor player here. roasted malt is the big flavor here. not an unpleasant drink, but light chocolate feel makes it a basic milk stout.
slightly below medium on the mouth, a touch of lactose and the roasted malt on the finish.
Overall, a bigger chocolate kick would have made this much more enjoyable to this particular palate. as it is, this one falls a little short.
