A German-style Pils with pale gold color and good body, this crisp, clean and very bitter beer has pronounced hop aroma and is made with the famous Hallertau hops. Kaiser Pils is brewed with triple decoction mashing. A beer worthy of an Emporer.

Bottle marked 17081434B10515 at 42 degrees into hand washed and dried shaker
Aroma of wet malt
Head large (6 cm, aggressive pour), white, frothy, diminishing to 3 mm frothy ring and layer
Lacing poor – few small streaks of tiny to small bubbles
Body light yellow, clear, effervescent
Flavor begins slightly bitter with some malt sweetness following, some disulfide noted: no hop taste, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate light to medium, watery, soft carbonation

Appearance 4, Aroma 3, Flavor 3.5 (for the style), Palate 3, Overall 3.5. But I still don’t like it.

Very bitter for a Pilsner, recommended if you like the Pilsner from Northern Germany, e.g. Jever. Crisp and refreshing.

Aug 2013 On tap Rattle n Hum. So now it's summer & I'm thinkin' pils would be perfect. This contradiction of flavors leaves me wanting. Sure it's got crispness that I'm looking for, but it's body, as noted by the creamy head has it lingering on the tongue. Between the bitterness & the body, I'm looking for a glass of water on the side.

03/15/12 Solid body with a slight bite. Wholesome pilsner but not for summer drinking IMO. Better for fall.
