Pours cloudly lemonish yellow with about one finger thick white head.Light citrusy smell with malt notes on the back. Same with taste - citrusy with a pleasant bitterness. Feels a bit flat and watery though, but overall it's pretty good. It's pretty drinkable as most beers of this stile.
Really nice one, I liked it, but it's not the best witbier I have tried. It's not even in top10 actually.

Swans Brewpub ' Tessier Witbier' @ 5.0% served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $6
A-pour is a light gold from the bottle to a slight hazy gold in the glass with a smallish white head leaving a streaky lace along the pilsner
S-coriander , orange peel
T-spicy witbier (curious what the secret spice is)
MF-good carbonation , medium body
Ov-has a wow factor , good beer

Tessier's Witbier is surprisingly clear for an unfiltered wheat beer; not only is it perfectly transparent but it has a bright golden luster as well. On first impression you might guess it a pilsner. Its head initially sat like bookends but gave out after not long and its surface is now flat and actively fizzing, appearing like the flies that buzz over a still lake at dawn.

(Edit: The second pour - by which point it was possible for it to be vigorously swirled as instructed - did result in the predictably hazy, almost lime green-tinted beer and fat, cloud-like head. Even a trace of lacing too! For a witbier to look proper you have to pour it properly.)

The nose is a bounty of flavours, each a linear orchestra of musicians playing their part in a beer that is part savory, part spicy, part acidic and part sweet. The label claims that spices were used but doesn't specify which ones; at this point it's impossible to tell and to my nose it's pretty much just effervescent Belgian yeast business as usual.

The spicy yeast character turns out to be just passing by, not staying. Instead, the crisp and refreshing (yet fulfilling) flavour of wheat malt occupies the palate - not without some noticeable dried, delicate savory notes mind you - and ends up tasting of fresh honey-oat country bread. Orange peel isn't tasted outright, but there is a vague citrusy element.

Tessier's Witbier is as refreshing as the best witbiers, but on some sips can almost be reminiscent of a pilsner; it is quenching and approachable, not possessing too strong a flavour and virtually no bitterness. As mentioned, however, it does have a firm herbaceous character, plenty of effervescence, and even a dab of tartness on the close.

It's important for a brewpub to be able to execute a variety of styles and, as for Swans, they can confidently say to have this one in their bag of tricks. Although it doesn't quite replicate any Belgian masterpieces, Tessier's Witbier ensures all the best features of the style are accounted for. It is a fully-flavoured beer that is tremendously approachable.

Vertabim from notes 16JUL11

Light ale with no head and a good wheat color with hazy tone (should be a little more hazy). Wheat, yeast, coriander, grain on the nose. Pretty standard fare. Lots of sweet wheat on the flavor wit hsome more yeast and hints of clove. Thin and flat for the style. Dry finish, this is totally off IMO. Not a good example of the style.

A - poured from a 650ml bottle into a tulip glass. It pours cloudy pale yellow with a bubbly head.

S - citrus, flower, strong peach and yeast

T - peachy malt and lots of grapefruit. The grapefruit extends into the finish but is not astringent at all.

M - medium carbonation, medium-thin body and neutral finish

D - strong complex flavors that mellow nicely, refreshing

22 oz bottle, thanks to pubstyle for sharing.

Pours a cloudy very light yellow, straw, medium sized bone white head forms, quickly fizzes down to a thin ring, few spots of lace stick. Smell is nice, lemons, honey and wheat, quite spicy, coriander and a bit peppery, toast, light fruit and citrus, nice. Taste is similar, bit of a lemon and spice zing, wheat, toast, honey, coriander, pepper, sweet middle but good spicy finish, a bit of vanilla, nice. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium to high carbonation, a pretty nice witbier. Thanks Troy!

Sampled on 7/31/2009 at the brewpub in Victoria, from a flight of six. Lemony-yellow in color, almost no transparency. None of the cloudiness you often seen in this style; looked more like a hefeweizen. Lots of lemon and spices on the nose. Very smooth in the mouth. It felt quite substantial for a wheat--a pleasant surprise. Tastes exactly like it smells. The spices aren't overwhelming in my opinion.

Very nice example of the style: one of the top two beers we had at the brewery!

I got a feeling they changed the recipe because this not an overly spicy wit as mentioned in previous review. The beer is actually hoppy to where it tastes like a wit mixed with a nice golden ale. I really like this beer as it tastes different than any other wit I have tried. Full flavoured and very drinkable , the hoppy citrus notes went well together. Another great wheat beer in BC.
