Huge pop and quickly rising head like under attenuated in bottle, murky brown color
Nose plenty of fake vanilla, fake chocolate flavoring, milk choc creamy milk lactose, little cola syrup
Taste infected or super under attenuated and fermented way too much in the bottle, tangy fruity icky, messy fake chocolate, fake vanilla.
Mouth is over carbonated, syrupy mess

Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass, not sure when it was bottled. Pours dark brown with a two inch light tan head, that leaves behind some nice lace.
Smell butterscotch, biscuit, cocoa, and toffee.
Taste follows butterscotch, biscuit, and cocoa upfront with some toffee in the finish.
Mouthfeel is pretty darn thin, moderate carbonation, not dry, and drinks easy enough.
Overall this is o.k, could have used more body and flavor, the flavor that it has is very mild and not great.

From the 650 ml. bottle with an expiration date of Aug 2016. Sampled on February 27, 2016.
The color of the pour is mahogany brown with a modest but lingering tan head.
The vanilla and chocolate notes are strong in the aroma. There is a low hop profile.
Medium to full body.
The taste highlights the vanilla sweetness and the finish is not very bitter.

Has a nice smokey flavor at first but it gets a little boring after the first glass.

On Tap at BBC Manchester.
Dark brown color with no head by the time it made it to the table.
Big caramel and toffee with some disturbing bitter butterscotch notes and little to no chocolate notes I normally associate with a porter. The Vanilla is extremely light I had to strain to find it. Another lackluster Woodstock beer.

On-tap 3/15/2015 at British Beer Company, in Walpole, MA served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a thin beige head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains strong vanilla along with coffee, roasted malts, chocolate and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Then a hearty roasted malt character comes in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth but a bit watery, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s a solid beer but there are better porters out there that I would normally pick first.

Taste is vanilla, dark chocolate, toasted malt, and some earthy hops. The body seems a bit heavy for a porter. Also, there is a bitterness that I was not expecting that does not fit right with the vanilla sweetness. That said, this is not a bad beer, but also one that I will likely not revisit.
