A dark full bodied porter brewed with real maple syrup. Black patent malt character shows through in the beginning with a silky smooth finish.

Near-black dark pour with small brownish head that fades to barely a ring quickly. Aromas are the "highlight" here with decent roast malt and very slight sweet note that might be maple? Flavors are fairly similar and one-dimensional - not much going on here for a porter in regard to complexity, and really no maple flavor to be found. A little thin and slightly hoppy finish.

Pours black with a thin head that dissipates quickly and leaves lacing
Smell- Roasted malts and hints of maple.
Taste-Roasted malts with with hints of caramel and maple. Nothing too strong here.
MF-Thin.
Overall- Weak flavors and thin for a porter.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice hazy brown to black color with a decent one finger white foamy head that dies within about a minute. It left some light lacing sticking finely to the glass. The smell had a nice blend of sweet roasty nutty malts but also had a good makeup of the maple flavoring invading my nose. The taste was sweet and roasty combining the maple, nuts and adds a light coffee to the background. On the palate, this sits about a medium with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation is actually fairly easy going down. Overall, good maple flavored Porter worthy of having again.

Look: Very dark and malty with an incentive creamy like head. Lots of residue from the head.
Smell: Malts, maybe a hint of maple but that's a stretch. Some hops. A little bready.
Taste: Malty on the front, a tinge of maple. Pretty hoppy. Almost IPA-esque. Fairly smooth on the end.
Feel: Average mouth feel.
Overall: Was hoping for alot more out of this. Just average. Too hoppy for me to buy this again. 6/10.

Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a dark brown body with very little lacing afterwards. Nose of faint maple and even fainter dark malts. Tastes of maple (and molasses?) Feel is just okay and overall this isn't too bad and better than its present avg. rating.
