This IPA from Woodstock has a lot of hops. For someone who likes the taste of a strong IPA, this beer is fantastic. From the typical NH style label, to the color of the beer, everything seems to work well. I find myself kicking back on a warm summer day in NH with this beer more often than others.

My older daughter and I stopped into the brewpub on Saturday, 07FEB15, for a light snack and some Biers. She had the Wassail; it was the 4000'er for me. A pint vom Faß was $3.75.

The shaker pint held a clear, medium copper libation. Head was a thin, wispy trail of white scattered across the surface. Lacing was decent, and carbo within was slow and steady. Aroma was solid, with piney grapefruit and other citrus fruit present. Mouthfeel, too, was solid, with a medium body and minimal prickle on the tongue.

The flavor had a touch of toasty, caramle malt, with a hint of butterscotch. Rindy grapefruit soon took over, with lots of resiny, piney citrus hitting the palate. The hops lingered quite well in the finish. Found this to be a solid, quaffable IPA. Prosit!!

Poured from a 12oz. can into a Sierra Nevada Celebration pint glass.

The color is a hazy orange with a finger of foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass.

The smell is a bit of a orange flavor that also has a touch of juicy citrus aroma. There is a tartness that inches at the nose.

The taste is a bit dank and there is a earthy hop flavor that does give a grassy flavor as well. There is a garden-like flavor here with some flowery flavor that is sweet but dirty just a bit.

The feel of this beer is medium bodied with a bit of push of bitterness that lays on the palette briefly and then disappears. There is a easy drinking feel to this beer that makes it quite interesting to pair with. A cigar could compliment the earthy dankness and give it a smoky profile when combined together.

A: hazy; burnt orange; 1 finger off white head that receded slowly to a thin, uneven cap; nice lacing;

S: herbal, earthy;

T: for just a brief moment, some caramel malt, then grapefruit rind and astringent bitterness through the finish; finish is long and bitter without enough flavor to match it;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation;

O: interesting, but too much bitterness without enough flavor;
