Pours a rich red colour with slight bead. Head is beige, nice and dense but doesn't quite hang around. Lace is OK, but also doesn't really stick. Nice colour, though.

Smells intriguing, as you'd expect. Lots of caramel with mildly tart fruit - banana, apple and a touch of copper. Light rye spice, slightly peppery. Yeah, pretty nice and interesting.

Taste is quite sweet, really. Toffee underlying it all with distinct fruit coming through early-mid, notes of banana, peach and pear. Some light spice notes late, a touch of nutmeg, clove and green pepper. The rye is an intriguing counterpoint to typical weizen notes, but it's not quite enough, so it sort of tastes like just a dirty weizen. Nice, but not amazing.

Smooth, good body. Just like a German ale should be.

I like the idea, and it's pretty well put together, but it does feel like a bit of a blind-man's-bluff experiment, and they could have leaned a bit heavier on some elements to make it pop out.

Poured a hazy amber colour from the bottle.

It smelled syrupy/sweet with cereal malts and wheat, with a bit of earthy-ness (Like and earthy witbier).

Tasted very sweet and malty with bread/cereal grains. Medium-bodied, like a wheatbeer with matls and a bit of an Irish red ale.

Would I buy it again? Probably.

A: The head is totally out of control. When it hit the glass, nothing BUT head. Amber brown in color and cloudy, although there appears to be very minimal carbonation flowing upwards.

S: Sweet, doughy yeast, like a hearty pastry. But something about it is sharp, maybe the rye?

T: Interesting. Hefeweizen esque, however the rye flavor modifies it in a cool way. Minerally aftertaste, and just a bit too sweet.

M: Medium body, very sparkly finish.

O: Decent beer. Different and interesting, though I wouldn't jump at it.

L: Pours a hazy light brown color with a medium top off white head that disolves rapidly. some lacings on the sides off the glass.

A: Aroma is banana ,bread, cloves, vanilla and some citrus

T: The taste is quite similar to the scent. Lots off banana with a good malt profile inn the background, while finishes off with a long sweet flavour with some peppery notes. Is difficult to tell where the rye actually is inn the flavour, for me this really taste like a dark weizbier.

M: medium body with medium carbonation. Mouthfeel gets a little to watery i think, the aftertaste dissapear quite fast.

O: An interesting beerstyle to try. The beer was good and drinkable enough ,but not overly exiting.

Pours copper with a small head.
Aroma of banana, bready malt, soft chocolate malt.
Flavours are a little short-lived but include banana and bready malt with a hint of a toasty note.

Appearance: deep amber, cloudy, with lots of yeast particles. Looks very attractive. Foam is a brownish white and disappears quickly.

Smell: fruity, flowery, candy banana, overripe bananas, yeast and something chemical and not very appetizing.

Taste: sweet, fresh and fruity, banana flavor is powerful. A bit of tang and brown sugar, with a spicy tone from rye, with syrup and vanilla. Just as with the taste there is a bit of a chemical tone, as of soap.

Mouthfeel: creamy texture, carbonation is medium. Pretty decent.

Overall: I was very excited about this one but felt a bit let down, which probably led to the relatively low grade. Was hoping for a finnish rye bread and wheat sweetness but ended up with a rather strange, flowery and perfume-ish beer. It's drinkable though.

500ml bottle MHB: 25.02.12.

It pours, like some of the others form this brewery, very poorly. It is not a fine-looking beer. It has big soda-like bubbles and an overly soapy looking off-white head. There are also random flaoties, not yeast, but something else.

The smell is pure yeast. It basically smells like clove covered bananas.

The flavor is intensely banana-y. That is pretty much all it tastes like, biting into a banana. There is a hint of clove. It also has a noticeable sweetness.

This brewery is for sure hit or miss, this one seems ot be more of a miss.

The colour is deep amber (25 EBC), the liquid got some chill haze. The three finger compact off-white head sinks slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is powerful with tart wheat-flavours. Yeast, spices, herbs, caramel and flowery hops. Some sweetness and mild bitter notes. Some alcohol.

The taste is smooth with mild tart flavours. Caramel, toffee, and some salt. Light body (although the liquid is quite thick). The aftertaste is quite yeasty with some alcohol, vanilla and caramel. Some tartness and spicy hints of soap/phenols. The finish is sweet with some metal and soap.

The carbonation is mild with fresh small bubbles. The liquid is very smooth and quite thick/sticky.

Rye and wheat in the same beer? I don’t know about this one…

Bottle,

Not overly complex but a decent balance of banana/yeast/wheatness with caramel maltyness. Malt flavor is more honey caramel as opposed to much darker/roasted flavors. Some spicyness in there, not nearly as much as american rye beers though. Different, i guess its not a typical roggenbier in that its wheat based.
