Notes: This beer is made with one grain and 4 Belgian yeasts, a deceptive golden color, and a malty palate lend complexity to this Belgian Trippel Ale.

Poured from a 12-oz. bottle into a pint glass.

A strong pour results in a 1/2-finger white head that fades to nearly nothing in about 2 minutes. Retention is nearly non-existent as is lacing. The body is a gorgeous honey with sediment floating and bubbles rising. It almost looks like its own ecosystem.

Strong malt and floral hops presence in the nose. Yeasty clove is of course present along with honey and banana.

Orange, grains, sour apple, and an odd spiciness all collide with each sip, only to be succeeded by a nice alcohol warmth.

The body is medium with light carbonation.

Easily drinkable, but the alcohol warmth actually pushes me away from reaching for the glass.

Honestly, this beer is much better when you don't analyze it. Its many imperfections are easily overlooked when enjoying socially.

Comes in a beautifully hazy, almost opaque golden color with a small white foamy head. Chunks of sediment are visible at the bottom of the glass. Retention is moderate, and a thin ring remains perpetually, leaving some spotty lacing behind.

The aroma is huge banana and clove, big warmth, apple, pear, pineapple, lemon; hay, big bready malt, dough, honey, vanilla.

Banana, clove, and honey upfront, followed by apple, pear, pineapple, and lemon. Big doughy malt backbone, thick and creamy, but not overly sweet. Finishes with clove and hay, lightly dry, with some alcohol warmth.

Pretty full-bodied, smooth, and creamy. Seems a bit undercarbed or almost too creamy for the style, though.

Overall, it's not the best tripel in the world, but it's not underwhelming, either. It's solid.
