Poured into a pilsner glass. Pours a light golden amber with an effervescent with head that dissipates to nothing except a thin ring around the glass. Light aroma of grainy biscuit malt and mild grassy hops. Flavor starts with grainy malt with a hint of biscuit, then fades away, revealing slightly astringent grassy hops with light graininess. Light bodied with active carbonation. The very first part of the taste gives hope, because it has a bit of grainy biscuit, but the flavor fades quickly leaving only the dry part of the malt and lightly grassy hops that are more bitter than flavorful. A mediocre adjunct lager that leaves only hope for a better introduction to Argentinian ales.

I haven't had much beer from Argentina, so I was excited to try this despite the style. It's pricey for what it is, and I have noticed that in other markets besides here in Puerto Rico. Priced like craft, but it's not, don't know the story there. Blonde and real clear looking, head doesn't last, and it smells a bit oxidized. Not stale, but somewhat south of prime in the aroma. Definitely adjunct driven, like pale and Pils malt extrac from a one gallon can with rust on the bottom, takes me back to home brewing 101. Fortunately, it tastes a lot better than anything I ever made from canned malt syrup, and actually refreshes rather well when frosty cold. There is a lingering ready thing, stale now, and metallic, iron rich like licking a bloody cut, and has the same heavy drying effect on the tongue. Two is enough in any context, and there is nothing here at all to justify the price point. I wish for more hops and freshness, but it serves the purpose of variety in a place where it's been way too hard to come by...

12 oz bottle in Tamarindo, CR. Pours pale straw with tall, long lasting, fluffy, white head and soda like carbonation. Aroma is of hay and fruit juice. Body is light and crisp. Taste is like slightly bitter water. Brew to avoid.

I finally got to try Argentina's national beer, and while it wasn't outstanding, it was better than that of a lot of countries which aren't known for their beer production. This is a very simple pale lager, not hoppy, very light (only 4.9%), and it goes well with spicier food or anything with chimichurri on it. If you just want a little something with a good Argentine meal, this works.
