I haven't had much beer from Argentina, so I was excited to try this despite the style. It's pricey for what it is, and I have noticed that in other markets besides here in Puerto Rico. Priced like craft, but it's not, don't know the story there. Blonde and real clear looking, head doesn't last, and it smells a bit oxidized. Not stale, but somewhat south of prime in the aroma. Definitely adjunct driven, like pale and Pils malt extrac from a one gallon can with rust on the bottom, takes me back to home brewing 101. Fortunately, it tastes a lot better than anything I ever made from canned malt syrup, and actually refreshes rather well when frosty cold. There is a lingering ready thing, stale now, and metallic, iron rich like licking a bloody cut, and has the same heavy drying effect on the tongue. Two is enough in any context, and there is nothing here at all to justify the price point. I wish for more hops and freshness, but it serves the purpose of variety in a place where it's been way too hard to come by...

12 oz bottle in Tamarindo, CR. Pours pale straw with tall, long lasting, fluffy, white head and soda like carbonation. Aroma is of hay and fruit juice. Body is light and crisp. Taste is like slightly bitter water. Brew to avoid.

I finally got to try Argentina's national beer, and while it wasn't outstanding, it was better than that of a lot of countries which aren't known for their beer production. This is a very simple pale lager, not hoppy, very light (only 4.9%), and it goes well with spicier food or anything with chimichurri on it. If you just want a little something with a good Argentine meal, this works.

Nothing special here. Pedestrian pale lager from Argentina. Light malt taste, but flat and watery tasting. Typical cereal lager, heavy on the adjunct grains.

This must be the most readily available beer in Argentina, and it seems to me the quality control section is doing a really bad job.

Appearance: depends on which bottle you get. Sometimes muddy yellow, others crystal clear pale golden, at times almost orange. Some carbonation with a pillowy skunky head.

Smell: most of the times it has a strange creamy skunky catpiss odour that will be on your mind for a couple of days.

Taste: that same skunk you smelled is what you taste. Sometimes it's more bitter, others lighter, at times tastes like a cheap cider, and one thing's for sure: you won't get rid of it unless you have something really strong to block it. The best solution it's drinking something very sweet.

Mouthfeel: it's an ugly taste. I pretend to write a serious review about this, but this beer it's almost a joke. It's harsh, skunky, unpleasant most of the times. If it warms up a bit, you're lost.

Overall: being polite, it's a bad beer. It's one of the cheapest too, but doesn't share that common quality that almost all the cheaper beers have here: the light presence of alcohol. This one makes it clear it's there, and in a nasty way.
