Visited in June of 2022 when in Edmonton for business. Wow. Huge selection, with a focus on Alberta beers. An entire half of an aisle dedicated to Calgary breweries. Tons of hard-to-find Canadian beers, but also a great selection of European beers. The only thing I would say is that the American beer selection is somewhat modest. That said, there is so much amazing Canadian beer being brewed, that this no longer makes a difference. Absolutely worth a stop if you visit Edmonton. The owner was super nice and guided us through the different sections.

This is straight up the best beer store I've ever been in in Canada. The selection is absolutely insane. SO MANY high high world class beers. Every beer by Dieu du Ciel ended up here miraculously and it was magical. On top of this, the champagne/wine selection is fantastic. Imagine going to one store and getting 10 boxes of Peche Mortel, Aphrodisiaque, Moralite, Old Rasputin, and then a bottle of Dom Perignon's 2008 vintage and a whole bunch of random new craft beers you've never heard of. There's a whole Deschutes wall so if you like IPAs there's some fresh squeezed and if you like stouts there's a bottle of 2019 Abyss waiting for you. SO AMAZING. Oh yeah plus every Sam Smith beer is here. If you ever find more money in your account than you need seriously go blow off some steam here. Nowhere in Canada has come close to this place for selection.

Like many liquor stores in Edmonton "the curtain" looks like any other, but what they lack in dressing outside they make up for in quality service and selection.

Inside - I like that the beer cooler is almost the same size as the spirits and wine side of the store. They know quality and have a great selection on both sides.

I always have a great experience talking with staff who are more than qualified at answering questions and making great suggestions. There courtesy and knowledge are exemplary.

And the selection - is the best I have come across from the shops I have been to. Being from a smaller town their selection is at least 10 times larger than what I can get anywhere in the interior of BC (and even my two top shops in Vancouver don't come close to Sherbrooke's selection).

I always look forward to my semi-annual trips to the 'chuck just so I can got to Sherbrooke.

This place is truly mind-boggling. If you love beer and you are in Edmonton, plan to spend a long time here. The selection, quality, and service is unmatched. In the past few years, I've had the chance to visit similar bottle shops in major cities. Sherbrooke is truly world-class.

This store was amazing, thousands of selections including Cantillion, Central City, Me Tracteur, and many American beers. I said this is the greatest store in Canada I have seen to which they pointed to an award saying they were. Even had beers brewed special for them, a very large walk in cooler, went back the next day to make sure I didn't miss anything. If not the best, one of the best of my beer store experiences.

This place is fantastic. The staff are the friendliest around and always willing to talk beer or whatever else you have going on. I am in total awe of the growler bar and have had a blast trying a different brew every time. You can literally find any craft beer you could ever want. My only detraction is going to be the price point on some of the generic beers, which doesn't slow me down but means my BBQ beer runs are often to the local liquor depot. But seriously this place is an Edmonton beer scene staple!

I wouldn't be on BA if it weren't for Sherbrooke. I was inkling for something new beer-wise, and a google search for "Best beer store in Edmonton" turned up Sherbrooke. After checking out their website I was intrigued, and decided to make the trip across the city. It was well worth it. The first time I walked into the PACKED beer cooler I was completely blown away by the absolutely overwhelming selection. I quickly filled my basket with a bunch of interesting beers from a number of interesting styles that I had never seen anywhere else in Edmonton. The atmosphere is great, one glance around that beer cooler, separated by styles, tells you that the people at Sherbrooke love beer, and that enthusiasm is infectious! The staff are friendly and knowledgable as well. I've already sent a couple friends interested in exploring beer beyond the macros to Sherbrooke, and I'll be certain to recommend them to anyone in Edmonton looking for an absolutely astounding selection certain to satisfy any taste.

In terms of availability of beers in Canada this is as good as it gets. If it's available in Alberta they will almost always have it, although it may not always be in stock. The "Sherbrooke House Beers" or whatever you would like to call them are usually pretty good with some of them being really good.

I still remember the first time I walked into the walk-in fridge and was completely overwhelmed. I had no clue what to buy and spent an hour and a half trying to decide. The prices for the most part are pretty decent. I haven't ever paid what I considered an exorbitant amount for anything considering what I was getting, although if you're not careful it is easy to drop a lot more money than you were planning on here.

Overall it's the best liquor store I've ever been to and I look forward to it every time I go.

I've only had the opportunity to visit this establishment once, but I certainly wish we had one in Calgary. Edmonton-ians are blessed with one of the best beer selections in Canada (if not THE best in Canada).

They've got something to appease any beer lover, and beyond their wide selection of imports and domestic gems, they have a plethora of their own contract offerings (which I have yet to be disappointed with). If you're ever in Edmonton you MUST visit Sherbrooke Liquor!

My BA partner in crime recently visited and after making away with a scandalous haul he was also given some exclusive beers which weren't even on the shelf. Here's a place that is passionate about providing the best selection and service to their customers!

WOW.
Not only a beer lover's paradise, a wine lover and spirit lover's as well!
From the outside it looks quite modest and well, small. Stepping inside you see the shelves are stocked full. VERY full. Then the beer cooler. Oh how I'd like to live in there. Macro brews all centered and 'plopped' into stacks, while the 'real' brews are all around the wall. Sorted in Brewery families, and also by beer style. Very easy to navigate. Surprises all over the place, hard to find beers, 19 exclusive brews... everything. Also an excellent cooler/cider selection.
Staff was very helpful. Answered every question very in-depth. Very knowledgable.
The value was great too. Nothing was over-priced, but all in a good range to keep customers and the business owner happy.Even the customers were helpful! Such a lovely place for the beer (and wine and spirit) lover.
I highly reccommend everybody to visit this store. Good location too, fairly close to Kingsway mall.
If only they could charge me rent and let me move in...

I had numerous recommendations to visit this place and I stored them away in my mind, since I don't get up to Edmonton too often. When I do, I had counted on the "Chateau Louis" liquor store as my place to check for the odd Belgian that I couldn't find in Calgary, or for some of their "Chat-o Stout" (brewed exclusively for them by local brewers "Alley Kat").
The reason I mention all this?
I had to go to the Chateau Louis hotel as part of my work, and to get there I had to drive right past the Sherbrooke Liquor Store. I gladly made a side trip to see what the fuss was all about.
It is unassuming, and I thought I was going to be disappointed. Once inside the large cold beer area, however, it was instantly apparent that the owners here love beer and have put together an outstanding selection for us beer lovers.
Amongst the brews that I couldn't find in Calgary were THREE exclusive ones, brewed by Alley Kat, for the Sherbrooke: A chili beer, a chocolate-cherry porter, and a double IPA.
I wandered through and recognized maybe 90% of the bottles as ones I'd seen in Calgary. The other 10% were quite exciting for me, and I dropped $75 in no time.
I'll definitely visit again.

It's the best beer store in Edmonton. It's not in the greatest neighbourhood, but it's not in a slum, either. Still, I make sure to lock up before going in, even though my vehicle is in plain sight the whole time.

The beer cooler is a walk-in style one, several hundred square feet. A disappointing percentage is dedicated to wine coolers and macros, but I suppose those are the meat and potatoes that pay the rent.

The staff are friendly and knowledgable, and the selection is the best in the city (though that's not saying much). The inventory does rotate, so you can't be sure you'll be able to get a steady supply of a given brew, but the plus side is that there's always new stuff coming in.

I can't really comment about the selection of liquor or wine there.

Canada isn't a complete beer wasteland after all. I mean... I've been here for over 4 weeks this year and now I've finally seen that there are beer stores. I mean, sure, there are beer stores. Heck, there are beer stores on every corner. And they all carry the same macro lager stuff and no singles. Sure, they might have a few different local breweries so maybe a choice of 6 different micros to choose from but, hey, I'm not out to buy full six packs just yet - I'm here to try the locals and find what I like. If I like it, I'm way happy buying a full 6. I just don't want to end up with another 6 of shite, you know?

Anyway, as with all of the beer stores I've seen up here, it's a full-service liquor and wine store as well. All of the beer is in a walk in cooler. Kind of weird, but whatever.

Of course, that's nothing compared to the way things are set up. It's, uh, disturbing. Things are on the shelf by beer type. The craft things, that is. The macro things are in big piles on the floor. Anyway, in craft things you have the lagers then wheats then Belgians then it gets a little confusing. Maybe IPA, amber, dark. A good selection of each, sure. They say 450 (review below) different beers. I guess I can believe that. Plenty of Rogue XS (as well as other Rogue), Fish Tale, Lagunitas, Thomas Hardy (yeah), plenty of Belgians (good, big selection), locals and Canadians. I walked out with 8 barleywines (mostly in 33s) for $56cdn.

Now, those Rogue XS beers are $22cdn each. I don't know - maybe that's the going rate but wow does it ever seem high to me, you know?

Cashier was nice and friendly. Store was, well, a beer store. Not all that pretty - always leaving me wanting, well, a nice beer store. One that looks nice and inviting inside and out. And some day... I'll just have to build it myself, I guess.

I've been going (exclusively, if i can help it) to Sherbrooke since about last summer, and resolved myself to put in a good review because the store definitely deserves it.
This store in itself has opened my eyes up to good beer, and with a massive selection (up to 425 last time I was there) I'll probably never drink through the whole inventory like I set out to.

Every week or two there is something new on the shelves, and there is always a good conversation to be had, usually ending in some really excellent recommendations like the St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout from a couple weeks ago. I'll be returning to pick up a couple bottles of Fuller's Vintage within the next week.

So thanks, Sherbrooke, without you I'd still be drinking macros.

It is about time I put in my review of this store. I have been shopping there almost exclusively since my first visit a couple of months ago.

My last visit was Wednesday night, and the sign in the parking lot said 390 varieties of beer available. To make it simple for anyone in Edmonton looking to shop for beer, the owner's goal is to carry whatever beer is possible. I can only think of about 6 or 7 beers that are sold commercially in Alberta that aren't there, and that's counting 3 or 4 from the Berghoff line.

The cooler is as large as any in the city, and well laid out, but with the constantly expanding selection it can be hard to track down what you are looking for.

Prices seem to be a bit lower than the Chateau Louis, though I haven't purchased some of the newest beers from anywhere but Sherbrooke.

The staff is all quite friendly, and are quick to help you locate something if asked. The owner and his wife both seem to be fairly interested in quality beer, and are great people to talk to if you have the opportunity.

This is my liquor store now, and unless something drastic happens, I don't see that changing for a long time. Every visit has been a pleasant one for me.

Was introduced to this place by my buddy Rico (elricorico). Until then I thought that I had found all there was to experience in Edmonton for beer shopping...oh was I wrong.

The area of town is a touch shady...and this store is found in a small strip mall...I would have never expected such a quality liquor by looking at the exterior.

The beer cooler is a good size and is full of many brews not available elsewhere. By far the best selection I've seen. They have the standard gift packs available here plus a few. This store also stocks up on many beers as soon as they become available...which is more than I can say about any other stores in the city. If something’s new in town....its here.

Service in excellent. If Jim is around he talks beer and gives the heads up on new things coming to town. Everyone else I’ve dealt with has also been friendly and knowledgeable. I even got a free glass once!!

Prices are very reasonable...better than anywhere else in town. I can never complain about how much I spend when I go here.

Overall a very good experience. I enjoy every trip I make to Sherbrooke and always walk out satisfied. I don’t plan to do much shopping anywhere else any time soon.

Found in a mini mall right off the big traffic circle on St. Albert Trail, I was able to find this place without having the exact address on me. A bit seedier part of town, I never would have sought out a refined beer selection here if I hadn't been notified of it.

The beer cooler was large and well-stocked when I visited, the second best selection in Edmonton besides the Chateau Louis, and one of the owners mentioned to me that they plan on eventually carrying everything that is available to distribute in Alberta. What impressed me is that I was able to find a bottle of Wild Rose's seasonal cherry porter for my parents while I was up there visiting, and realized that they had it stocked weeks and weeks in advance of most of the stores in Calgary, where it is brewed. Most noticable was the regional selection of micros (especially AB and BC), and European imports.

This establishment is definitely a diamond in the rough, and worth seeking out, especially for those BA's living on the north part of town.
