12oz brown bottle. Poured into a standard 12oz glass. Porlamar, Isla de Margarita, Venezuela (Home of the World's Worst Drivers)
It pours a pale straw golden color with a fast-fading fizzy white head. Some trailing lace.
A grainy cereal smell rises and remains throughout. Some coppery metallic smell mixes with a whiff of floral hop and wet grass.
The flavor is a bit on the sweet grainy side. Some corn and a light metallic hop tang are actually not that bad.
The mouthfeel is just Ok. There's nothing wrong with it, yet there's not much to it.
I expected the worst and braced myself for a struggle to finish it. Then I had two more. When in Venezuela...

had to try this while in Curacao. it really is the national beer of choice. cheaper than everything else, very bland and generally non-offensive.

nothing special at all about it. taste is sharp, flat corn. it takes a few to get over the taste, settle in and forget you're drinking Polar.

unless you really have to tick this one.. pass and get a Presidente.

Tried this import brew at Fifty Brews in Orlando, was on special 2 for $5. Overall reminded me of your typical american lager, color was not impressive, smell followed closely behind. Taste was better then expected and drinkability with this is not an issue as you could probably knock 6 without even blinking. I would search this out if I was left with only the standard bud and coors choices

Polar Pilsner Type Beer has a medium, white head, some thin lacing, and a very bubbly, clear, yellow appearance. The aroma is very sweet, with mostly barley, but maybe an adjunct showing itself. Taste is of sweet barley malt, some background adjunct (rice?), and there is a light hop bitterness in the distance. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Polar finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and mostly dry. Overall, this is an enjoyable beer, and I think it's worth trying.

Overall: God - where to start? This beer is awful, really awful. Apparently Venezula must have a shortage of taste, or malts and hops are being rationed or something. Stay away!

A: bottle is cute. Beer is dead grass yellow, very little carbonation. Very little head, which vanishes almost faster than an eyeblink.

S: Where is the beer? Where's the beer?

T: OMG: this is God-awful! So far in my 35+ years of beer-drinking, this has to be The Worst Beer I have ever had. Worse than Carling Black Label. Or Tuborg Gold. Or Harley Davidson Heavy Beer. To say this has less taste than Rolling Rock Lite is unfair to Budweiser Select 55. Polar Beer has reached a new low: it has "Negative Taste".

M: like carbonated sour metallic water. Gag.

Overall: This is Bad, Really Bad. Wretchingly bad, Please, for God's sake, Stay Away!

The Polar Pilsner from Venezuela, not what I expected - better actually - but not the best pilsner I've had either.

Polar serves up a mostly yellow hued brew with a frothy head that's got good staying power and lacing. I didn't notice much else other than the hops and malts you would expect, and it was way more carbonated for my liking. That said, it had thick, rich feel to it and was very crisp, very smooth. It's the kind of beer you can just guzzle because of how smooth it is. That much surprised me.

Review: Bottle of Cerveza Polar: ABV:5.00%

The Polar Pilsner from Venezuela, the vacation beer perfect for the beach and served ice cold.

The appearance wasn’t too bad, looked good. On pour, a nice white head developed which quickly dissipated. The beer was a pale, yellow colour, and with some thin lacing

I found the aroma was pretty strong, a very acute smell, very sweet, of malts, grain, very citrusy. I did like the smell.

Taste was interesting. I did taste what felt like some fruit, lemon and apples. This beer tasted more like a fruit juice than a beer, very sweet.

Was very easy to drink, had a good flavour and taste on all fronts, grainy and sweet malts. Easy to drink, nice good mouthfuls, a nice feel on the tongue. Not a strong beer, and no strong aftertaste, but still pretty sessionable, with a very crisp, clean finish and smooth to drink.

Not a bad beer overall. Can imagine it must be nice sipping it ice cold on a beach near the Caribbean.
