310ml glass at Harts Pub.

Pours a glowing orange-golden. Small white foam atop that falls quickly.

Smells of passionfruit, both fresh and also slightly earthy. At times a little pungent. A bit of a one trick pony here, passionfruit and plenty of it.

Taste has the passionfruit there as no surprise, a touch of caramel, but otherwise it is pungent passionfruit to the fore.

Bitterness all throughout and very pungent. Body tends towards the larger size for the style making it less sessionable than the Rocks IPA also on tap at the moment.

If you love passionfruit, come on down. Otherwise this is very one dimensional and pungent. Average, not going to ring my mates to tell them to come on down before it runs dry.

On-tap at the brewery. Reviewed from notes.

Orange amber, fairly clouded with a resilient tight white head that recedes with strong sheety lace.

Passionfruit, orange/mango and fruit salad with plenty of candied malt character lifting the fruity hops nicely.

Begins similarly before transitioning to earthy pine and a marmaladey bitterness.

Body has some heft, with decent carbonation and a firm bitter finish.

Pretty bombproof IPA and seems to be getting better with each batch. One of the better examples in Oz.

Tap at Local Taphouse in Melbourne. From notes.

A - Poured hazy dark orange. Two fingers of white head. Good carbonation and good lace rings. Film of retention.

S - Grapefruit, pineapple, lot's of tropical fruit and some biscuity malt.

T - A tiny malt sweetness then a huge citrus, pineapple, tropical fruit hop punch.

M - Good bitterness, medium to full body and good carbonation.

O/D - A nice fruity, very hoppy IPA. The flavour range on the hop profile is pretty cool with lot's of different fruits coming out, most of which I don't really taste often. A good IPA.

Thanks to Rohan

Pours orange with nice head and lacing.

Nose is grapefruit, passionfruit, some tropical fruit. It's a bit subtle but nice on the whole. Noticed nose improved after the glass had been sitting for fifteen minutes or so, probably an ideal temperature thing.

Taste is firmly bitter, a bit fruity but the bitterness takes over much of the taste and body.

Mouthfeel is crisp, dry and bitter and feels as though it's evaporating on the tongue.

Very bitter, dry West Coast style IPA which has nailed down several aspects of the style but could benefit from more hop aromatics (although what is there is nice) and a toning down of the bitterness.

Pours amber with a fading head.
Nose shows lychees, papaya, rockmelon along with fruit confectionery. A fair whack of sweet clean malt underneath.
Full-on flavours. Big fruity notes along with truckloads of sweet clean malt roll through followed by an aggressive bitterness.
Carbonation could be a little higher.

A lively white head heralds this IPA and it clings to the glass like curtains. Clear orange body.

Tropical hop aromas explode from the glass, passionfruit, mango, pineapple, melon but all very pungent, almost like a durian and sweet, like a tropical punchbowl smothered in honey.

The sweetness really hits on the front palate with a sticky citrus and hints of pineapple followed by mango which is soon smacked into submission by a blast of intense pine, so bitter it leaves the mouth numb.

Lively carbonation, this beer has a slick mouthfeel and leaves the palate feeling refreshed. A very big IPA, any more intense and I would consider it an Imperial. I've been impressed by Bright before but this is their best work to date and, dare I say, one of the finest IPAs crafted upon these shores.
