I just recently heard about this store and had to go check it out based on the previous reviews. They have an amazing selection of beers, especially a lot of Michigan ones. The store is very clean, open, and easy to navigate. I ended up talking for a while with a guy who was working there and found out he was Mark. He was a very cool guy that definitely knows his beer - he showed me a bunch of stuff he has in his "cellar" in the back. He also said they got one of the three cases of GI BCBVS in the state of Michigan. Also, the prices were great - much less than a few other places I went.

As we were leaving, he gave me and my friend a bottle of two Short's beers that we had talked about with him. What a great place and a nice guy - I'll be back next time I'm in Michigan for sure.

Mark is the owner of this excellent establishment. His knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and cigars is phenomenal. If a university needed a professor for a beer, wine, liquor and cigar class, Mark would be their man. His selection has reached over 1100 bottles of beer. These range anywhere from mass market breweries to small local microbreweries.

A great thing about this store is the "wish list." If you can't find a beer (unlikely), Mark probably has connections and will do what he can to get you what you need.

If you are passing through the northern Detroit area, you have to stop at this exceptional store, it is clean, the selection is great and the service is exceptional!!

This was my first time going to Pineridge. I only live about 10 miles away but hadn't heard of it until it was mentioned here on BA. I went in to pick up the new limited Short's brews.

Having never been there I started browsing around trying to find where the Short's were and they do have an absolutely massive selection. I have no problem believing their claim of 800 different beers. I saw quite a few things here that I've never seen in person.

Pretty much everything looked up to snuff quality wise. Everything was organized nicely and their wasn't an inch of dust on anything. Cleaning this store must be a real pain in the ass! The only knock I have is the Sierra Nevada Porter bottles with the powder blue label. I know they changed it almost a year ago now.

Through all my browsing I never found the Short's I was looking for so I went up to the front and asked the guy working the front if there was any left. Sure enough he had some back behind the counter. I later came to find this was Mark. He seemed very knowledgeable and also seems to have a real love for beer. He let me know that he keeps all the limited releases behind the counter and offered me up the others he had at the time. I also got added to their mailing list.

Overall I had a great experience at Pineridge. Prices seem about on par with other stores in the area. Cloverleaf in Royal Oak is a little bit cheaper but considering this shop is about 15 miles closer the cost probably balances out. Needless to say I will be visiting regularly from now on. Wallet permitting that is.

Pineridge is my go to store for hard to find beers.

Located on Milford Rd right off M-59.

When it comes to quality you won't find much of a better place. The store is clean, well kept, and the beer is well rotated. You won't find stuff on the bottom shelves covered in dust. For micro brews they keep a little "specials" selection of newer items right up front.

Service is really good too. Mark is always willing to help me with whatever I need. He's always pointing out the new items he knows I would love. He also told me he would try to get whatever it is I might be looking for. He has made calls right on the spot while I'm trying to pick out a beer. In March he put my name down for a four pack of KBS and he guaranteed I would get it. Sure enough, I called a week later and it was sitting there with my name on it.

Pineridge has a huge selection of macros, micros, wine, mead, and liquor. Founders, Bell's, Stone, Jolly Pumpkin, Dark Horse, Arcadia, Arbor, Delirium, Great Lakes, Sierra Nevada, Kuhnhenn, etc. The list goes on and on. They also have mead like Viking Blod and outstanding liquors like Bookers.

Overall, an outstanding store to grab some beer. It's not exactly cheap but it's definitely not overpriced. I gave it $$$ because a lot of stuff is decently priced but some things make you scratch your head when you look at the price tag.

They always seem to have cases of Bells and Founders on hand, in addition to a shelves full of the regular Michigan brewery 6-packs. There is a large selection of singles to pick from, with the typical 6 for $10 deal. Want to try something new but don't see a single? Ask nicely and they will split the 6 pack up for you so you can get a single.

There are a nice selection of Belgians to choose from, as well as other micros from around the world, well organized by style and origin. The cooler also holds a nice selection of singles and 6'ers to pick from too.

Mark strives to bring the best he can get of all beers into his store. He often gets a hold of limited releases long before others do, and won't charge you insane prices to get it from him.

Can't believe I've lived 9 miles from this place for the past 8 years and have never stopped in.

Very large selection, several surprises that you don't see too often (i.e. 750ml Dogfish specialties, a few less commonly seen Rogues). Some of the bottles seemed like they might have been there for a while, not sure how often the more rare stuff moves. Found a couple hidden gems though that I was happy had not been picked up.

Service was good, the guy behind the counter was very friendly and more than happy to talk beer.

Prices weren't bad, very competitive.

My parents keep a summer home near Pineridge and my mother (who I apparently turned from a whino to a beer geek) stopped by. I went to visit them and she recommended we make a trip. Glad I listened to good ol' mom.

Q-Everything was clean, well displayed and easy to get. They feature pick a six for $9.99 right on the end of an aisle.

S-Gentleman behind the counter (though very entrenched in his phone conversation) made a point to greet me and ask if I needed anything. He seemed to know more about the wines they offered than the beer (overheard some conversation).

S-Over 100 beers to choose from for pick 6. They also had a great selection of macros, micros and the like. They had some things like Double Crooked Tree, Bell's Batch 8000, and all the Dark Horse (one, two, tres, etc) available. Some other hard to find beers as well.

V-Probably had some of the hard to find beers due to the high price. All the pick 6 beers were $2 or less normal retail.

I know this is a place I can go to find some of MI's best beers after their peak season is over, as well as after the mad rush to get the first batches. I will definitely be visiting next time I visit my parents.

Pineridge market has a great micro brew selection and even better service. I'll research a beer and more often than not I can stop by Pineridge and pick it up on my way home from work. I the rare case when they don't have a beer I am looking for, They are always willing to order it.
The selection there is amazing.
You can even make up your own mixed 6 pack for $9.99 or 12 pack for $17.99.

Check out Pineridge...
They have one of the best selections in the metro Detroit area.

While you are there stop by Brewmasters Home Brew Shop next door. They also offer great service.

I visited the store back in late 2006 after seeing their Ad in the Michigan Beer Guide – so, I am late in writing this review. Pineridge Winery is located in Highland [MI] a northwest suburb of Detroit, MI. Pineridge is a small store in a small strip mall with grocery store type window signage that makes it easy to see from the road. The store [per their Ad] has over 600 [I didn’t count them all] micros and imports available in singles, 4/6/12 packs.

Pineridge carries most major brands of Belgian (Trappistes Rochefort, Westmalle Trappist, St. Bernardus, etc.), Michigan Brewers (Bells, Founders, Dark Horse, Michigan Brewing, New Holland, etc), and out of state brewers (Dogfish, Stone, Sam Adams including their last bottle of Utopia, etc.). They appear to be competitively priced on most brands with one of the best selections in the metro Detroit area.

The fellow behind the counter was very helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to discuss and recommend their beer. I will be going back again.

Stopped by here, after see an advertisement in the Michigan Beer Guide. Nice stop on my way home from work. Directions were good from mapquest. Easy to find, big sign out front and located in a little stripmall.

Decent selection, lots of Michigan micros, Bell's, Arcadia, Founders, Dark Horse, New Holland, and Mi Brewing Company. The best selction of Dogfish Head, that I've seen. Some singles, but not many. About two dozen or so Belgians, and a handful of offerings from Rogue. Sam Adams Chocolate Bock and Sam Adams Utopias are also in stock. I picked up a bottle of Utopias for $125, not bad.

Service is excellent, the guy working the counter was eager to help and make suggestions. When I asked about a certain beer, he immediately called his distributor, to give me a answer. Very nice guy, he would order anything I wanted. Prices are average, some stuff was normal, but other beers might be a dollar or two more. A decent store, thats is conveniantly located, close to my home. Many return trips are expected.
