After hearing about the craft beer selections we stopped in. There are 5-6 coolers in the center of a small pizza joint that are stocked with pretty good beer. The selection is very smiler to Gabrials Super store nothing really rare for SA but definitely welcomed. Not to many restaurants have good beer in SA. Pizza was tasty and service was OK.

Would recommend this place for a good family place that has great brew. This place is kid friendly and does have a patio that has music on the weekends.

Stopped by here on a somewhat recent trip to San Antonio. This is basically a pizza joint in a strip mall that has a few good beers on tap and a few coolers of quality craft beers. The service was very good. The workers who were there when I visited weren't very knowledgeable about beer but they were extremely friendly and helpful. The pizza was not very good but as mentioned above they have a nice draft selection including locals and beers from New Mexico. The coolers contain a good number of TX craft beers as well as a bunch of the better distributed American crafts, German and Belgians. Not really near downtown SA(I had to rent a car) but not a bad place for bottles.

The first place I came across after starting my search for craft beer. I had no idea that a place so close to my house had such a great selection. After I discovered this place I was going there 2-3 times a week. I think they have around 200 beers (but the owner told me they are always get new ones and sometimes, might be more or less.) Im pretty positive they only have 4 taps. With avalanche, and Real Ale Coffee Porter (which was great) the other 2 not memerable. It being the first place i found great beers I gave them a lot of money and had no idea I was paying so much more for some of these beers that are really not even that expensive. But you live and learn- I was just ignorant.

The owner is awesome, really nice. The employees are all pretty helpful and nice. Ive generally only gotten their pizza before which is amazing. Ive had a meatball sandwich and it was the same. The only other dish i got to sample was my dad Chicken Alfredo which tasted just as good as any decent Italian restaurant. The only this is beware of some of the prices on their selections of beer (some are extremely overpriced as in DOUBLE!) I paid $14 for a Stone Imperial Russian Stout that was only 6 or 7 at Gabriel's. I do understand that Its a rest. so of course it will be more. Just dont buy any Trappist or be prepared to pay $20 or more.

As for value everything is "reasonable" unless you grab the wrong beer then it turns into "very expensive" lol

This place advertises to have over 200 beers available. While I didnt take the time to count, they definitely have a great variety of beers available. About the best variety you'll find in San Antonio. They seem to get a few new beers in faster, than other places, like the Flying Saucer. As pointed out by mgdeth, the majority of the beer is in coolers, while they have a few boxes just laying around the place, waiting for their turn in the cooler. They keep a few pint glasses in the coolers as well, if thats what you want with your beer. Its not always available, as they only keep about three or four at a time. The beer is expensive at times, but better to sample a beer at their price, and learn that you dont like it, than to buy a six pak at the store at a higher price, and get the same result. Overall, for beer selction in San Antonio, they really cant be beat. The pizza is also one of the best that I've had in San Antonio. If in the area, a must to try.

Quality - I don't have a strong basis for determining quality, but the beer that was for sale was refrigerated. Down side: the stuff that is still in boxes that is waiting to be moved to the display coolers is stuck on shelves out on the floor in various places in the restaurant.

Service - I was able to introduce myself to the owner, and he was very friendly. It sounded like he intended to continue to provide a large selection of quality craft brew.

Selection - This place has about 200 beers to choose from. Only about 5 are on tap, with the rest in bottle. For San Antonio, the selection is excellent.

Value - The mark up on beers is substantial. You will pay way more here than you will in any grocery store. If you are just buying one bottle to enjoy with your pizza, maybe this is not such a big deal.

Comments - I found six bottles of North Coast Old Stock Ale (2003) in this place. I was also told that they occasionally get Dogfish Head 120 Mintue IPA. The pizza is also pretty good. I think I will go back!
