It's been a long while since I've had this one. Used to drink the hell outta it back in Anchorage in the early 90's, but haven't since. With that being said, I can THOROUGHLY remember every nuance to this one. Sadly, it pales in comparison to several hundred beers I've had since, but I loved it before I knew better!

A - The few times I took the time to pour it in a glass I noted a fizzing head that relaxed to near nothing. Color was pale yellow with a slight red hue.

S - The strawberry smell was pretty overwhelming at first until a slightly hoppy smell took over

T - I always enjoyed the presence of the strawberry on the palate with this one. But as the beer warmed up, the strawberry essence became a bit syrupy and demanding. My fix at the time was to drink it colder and faster. There were hints of barley, but it never did balance with the syrupy taste

M - highly carbonated. Fizzy on the tongue. The flavoring also led to a fuzzy tongue feel after more than a few

D - Like I said, I used to drink it like water. Now I know better. I'd drink a few for nostalgia, but that's about it.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a clear pint glass.

A-Pours a very clear, golden to orange hue with a one and a half finger bone white foamy head that quickly vanishes without a trace of lace.

S-Grainy malt and strawberry sweetness.

T-Lightly toasted malt sweetness and some bitterness. Strawberry noted in the finish

M-Smooth, well balanced, crisp, and refreshing.

D-Very easy drinking, although somewhat lacking in taste. The strawberry essence is more novelty than a significant contributor to the quality, or lack there of, of a mediocre beer.

This was definitely not my favorite beer ever it did not have a good head to it the flavor and mouthfeel neither one were too impressive I just didn't enjoy this beer I couldn't find anything good about it I think the only thing I actually liked was the bottle and label design

12oz bottle poured into a nonic pint glass

The beer pours a clear golden honey amber with a quick dying one fingered white head. After the pour the beer looks relatively lifeless in the glass, similar to an apple juice. The color alone shows that real fruit was not used in this beer.

The smell is pretty sweet with a noticeable strawberry like aroma. It's similar to a strawberry hard candy to me. It's pretty one dimensional and dull.

The strawberry in the aroma doesn't follow to the taste as much except for a sweet finish. The flavor starts off very bland with a little graininess, maybe corn. The strawberry flavor comes through in the finish but is much more muted than I would have thought. For a beer designed like this a little more fruit flavor would have been complimentary.

The label denotes this beer as a lager. The mouthfeel and finish seemed out of place to me. It was pretty full bodied lacking any sort of clean and crispness. The drinkability was decent. A fairly neutral unoffensive beer which seems like a acceptable substitute to BMC beers during a picnic where no other options present themselves.

Drank alot of this in college because it was cheap and its the only beer my roommates girlfriend would drink. Picked up a case figuring the wife would like the strawberry thing...Ehh. Here goes.

Poured two cold into the Dortmunder Boot.

Pour - straw/golden red with hues of maroon and orange. One finger head is a new record for speed on the boot. Robust bubbles with a rocky top that is so fast that the word "quick" cant even be used to describe - dont blink, youll miss the head. Very little lacing and little carbonation to boot.

Nose - Obviously strawberry, but nothing really jumps out - no hops, no malts, toast, caramel, citrus, etc. Kind of smells like bubblegum.

Taste - kind of a disappointment, this stuff used to be the talk of town in 2000-2002. An initial hit of corn and mild malts ends with notes of berry, almond and bubble gum. Finish is dry but leaves a flavor of ice cream on the palate. Pretty refreshing for the initial poor showing as far as taste goes.

Mouthfeel - light body with absolutely no balance. Were hops used in the making of this beer?? Character is quick, with little carbonation really bringing that ice cream flavor back again.

Drinkability - maybe the occasional case or two a year but I couldn't do this one regularly, and definitely a spring/summer time lager.

As a dark beer lover, I tried this during a hot summer day. It wasn't too bad at all. Nice light beer, with a little strawberry aroma and flavor.

Compared to many other fruit flavored beers, this was better. Not just strawberry juice added to beer. It was a nice light beer with obvious strawberry tints, but not too much. As others stated, it wasn't too sweet with the flavoring. For a mainstream beer, that is good.

Definitely is drinkable. Although it isn't full bodied, it was smooth. No issues. I could easily throw down a large # of these at an outdoor party. However, come November and football season, this would be out of place and frowned upon.

Appearance: Orangey yellow in hue. Has a thick, bubbly white head that takes a while to dissipate. Looks appetizing.

Aroma: The strawberry is right up front - sweet and fresh smelling. It smells almost like strawberry jam cooking on the stove. Not too overpowering, not cloying at all. It's just enough to let you know you are getting a strawberry beer but not so much that you feel like you are drinking strawberry flavored soda

Taste: It's good. Mostly wheat with some strawberry. The strawberry is integrated well into the beer - it isn't very forward, isn't too sweet.

Mouthfeel: It's light and smooth. Goes down easy and doesn't overpower the palate. Definitely drinkable.

A- Straw colored with about an inch of head that quickly dies down.

S- Very slight malt aroma that is completely overpowered by a fake strawberry smell that makes you want to cry...

T/M- Just like smell, this "beer" is ALL strawberry. Reminds me of those carbonated flavored waters you get at WalMart. This beer is so fruity and has a very slight wheat flavor that comes through the dry mouth feel. Not that pleasant or becoming of a beer...

D- This would generally be considered a drinkable beer due to how light it is, but I thought it was so shitty and fruity that it doesn't much deserve to be called a beer.

Overall, this was a beer that was brewed for women. My girlfriend liked it, but I don't take her opinion of beer too far. I was apprehensive but bought it because it was one of the very few options that I haven't at my local college beer store in a tiny town- so there isn't much to choose from. Will NEVER give this another try...

A: Pours golden with slight red hue, one-finger head with snow-white coloring. Dissipates quickly leaving no lacing.

S: Slight strawberry sweetness, other than that, not much going on.

T: Starts out with a little strawberry sweetness that quickly drops off, until it returns briefly on the finish. The strawberry flavor is actually very underwhelming, which I consider a good thing, but the smell would lead you to expect a bit more fruitiness. As with the smell, not much else going on.

M: Pretty nice mouthfeel, medium-bodied and smooth.

D: While not the best tasting, it isn't bad, this is something you could pound a few of next to the pool on a hot day (although you might come off a little feminine).

A - Crisp golden to orange colored body. Light and smooth white head with a reasonable amount of carbonation feeding it.

S - Fruity bubble gum aroma on top of a malty base.

T - Pale malts with a rich bery fruit taste that accents the malt. Very nice taste that is not too fruity and overwhelming.

M - Soft and smooth with little coarse texture to note.

~ This is a drinkable beer. Its a winner for a springtime cookout, a summer boat ride or a fall ball game. This beer is classified here on BA as a fruit beer but I beg to differ. This is a light ale beer with fruit ingredients.

This strawberry blonde is a mediocre blonde ale with surprisingly aromatic strawberry notes, but sadly this doesn't transfer to flavor very well.

No signs of strawberry in the color. A very pilsner-looking beer with a solid white head that may fall more on the fizzy side than malty. Light lacing.

Bright aromas of strawberry hit the nose early but does seem fleeting, as the strawberry couldn't keep up late in the session. Sulury notes also abound and make the beer a bit less appealing. Otherwise and part-grain/part-malt aroma gives a crisp light bread base. No real hops

Flavors of the malt/grain come into play first with a shallow flavor of strawberry (still, the olfactory senses make the beer seem more fruitful than do the tastebuds). Otherwise the beer has little to offer- think Redhook Blonde.

The body also leaves me wanting more. A bit grainy with carbonic bite and light bitterness. Sulfur character make the beer seem rough, while the lack of maliness keeps the beer thin.

Ultimately the base beer struggles for average scores while the strawberry character seems artificial at times. But the arom bails this beer out.

A: Clear golden hue with a huge white head that leaves ample lacing. Deceiving? Perhaps.

S: Is this your basic macro? Yuengling with strawberry syrup? Smells like it. Corn and some hints of artificial strawberry can be detected, but that's really it.

T: Like your run of the mill pale ale. Adjuncts galore, along with a unnatural strawberry aftertaste. Nothing special.

M: Decent carbonation, but that unnatural strawberry finish is somewhat jarring, and confuses the palate.

D: Not as overwhelming or cloying as other fruit infused beers, such as #9, but really nothing spectacular either. I probably won't drink this again, but if this were an option as opposed to MBC, I'd probably choose this one.

Golden hue with a finger of slightly off white head...didn't stick around long. Smells of fresh strawberries and a hint a sweet adjunct. Strawberry on the front, and this is also the taste that lingers in between drinks. I can't detect any hops presence. There is a sweet cereal malt, but it's pretty faint. Feels quite nice and goes down smooth. I just don't like it.

I poured into a pint glass to a small, fleeting white head. It is yellow in color. I could smell the strawberry aroma as I poured. I smells really sweet. It reminds me of Frankenberry cereal. There is a faint beer smell in there, but it is masked quite well.

The taste follows the smell. There is a lot of sweet stawberry taste. It is a very smooth, easy drinking beer. I prefer it in the summer on a lazy 90 degree afternoon after a long night of drrinking the previous night.

A- Clear, amber color with lots of very active nucleation points. Small, white, spongy head with little lace.

S- I'm not a fan of fruity beers at all, but this smells amazing! It smells like strawberry shortcake, very strong! Subtle notes of wheat but this smells good!

T- Nothing like the smell, faint strawberry taste with a bitter bite. Wheat aftertaste and finishes sweet.

M- Light body, very carbonated, and watered down.. nothing special at all, as expected.

D- As far as fruity beers, this one is actually drinkable, however it's not too good. However, if every beer smelled like this I would not be able to stop myself from drinking it!

Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde is light in color. yellow and clear with a tiny little collar.

the smell is predominantly strawberry and some funky sour/sweet candy smell.

the taste is much of the same. like sweet tart candy, or a strawberry soda. tastes like an uninspired low-hop lager with some strawberry added at the end. the indistinct grainy malt can be found hiding behind the artificial strawberry.

it seems like there may be some weak hops hiding in there somewhere, but it's hard to determine.

mouthfeel slick, slightly watery, leaves the taste of sweet tarts on the tongue.

drinkability less than average. as i said for the other Pete's Wicked brew i reviewed: it's drinkable, but why? i would rather have a Budweiser and some strawberries. it would probably taste the same or better.

- just a bland beer with some strawberry thrown in

- the second Pete's beer i've had and that's probably enough for me.

= not a beer for beer drinkers, more a beer for people who want alcohol but don't like the beer taste. i can understand and, to a degree, respect this. not everybody is a beer advocate, and if you are taking the time to read this, it probably isn't the beer for you.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a light brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of sweet strawberries. Taste is also of strawberry, starts tart and finishes sweet. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and has average drinkability. Overall an interesting and tasty beer.

Pours a clear golden color. A lot of fizzy carbonation that creates a huge white head that has good retention.
Smell has a very strong strawberry smell to it. It almost smells like the fake strawberry that comes in candy or other preservative-type strawberries.
Taste has a lot less strawberry to it than the smell. There is a more of a bland wheat and bad hop taste, with a tinge of strawberry.
Mouthfeel is nice for a blonde ale. It is thicker than the usual blonde, but it has a good smooth wheat feel to it as well.
Drinkability is okay. I could definitely drink a good amount of these, but I think the strawberry would get to one after three or so. I expected not much going into this beer and it was better than I thought. Worth a try...

Appearance: Pours a golden color that is semi-transparent. By the time the beer got to me, any head had dissipated.

Smell: It has a strawberry smell, but it's not out of control. It's a somewhat subdued smell.

Taste: It tastes almost like strawberry soda with a slightly bitter kick at the end. However, on the whole, it is still very sweet.

Mouthfeel: Thin, but not too thin. It's not really watery or anything.

Drinkability: As with many fruit beers, one is enough for me. It is just too sweet for me to have any significant number of these.

Pours a clear orange color with just a trace of white head after the initial pour but it fades too fast to ever get a chance to try and lace upon the glass.

Strawberry flavoring dominates both the nose and the taste. Feel is quite thin and overly carbed. No hops or malt detected. Finish is crisp but overall this beer seems watered down and not really that eventful.

I am sure my wife would enjoy this beer but its not a beer I would try again. Once was enough for me.

A - Has a dark golden color with a little bit of redness in it. Poured with a thin white head that dissipated quickly.

S - Smells typical of a lager but has a certain sweetness. The strawberries are very light but noticeable.

T - Has a bitter taste right from the start though is still crisp. The sweetness of the strawberries comes out at the end and finishes pretty well.

M - Very smooth with lots of fine carbonation, especially towards the end.

D - Pretty drinkable but the bitterness detracts from the light sweetness of the flavor. A good beer all around.

The beer pours a slightly red-tinded gold color. Little head and no lacing.

The smell is exclusively faux sweetened strawberry. Not bad, but not unexpected.

This beer tastes very sweet, more like strawberry juice than beer. After a few sips the original strawberry overdose subsides and you can detect a slight "generic beer" flavor. Think BMC with a strawberry taste. Not wholly unpleasant, though.

As for mouth feel it is fairly smooth as expected.

Even with the BMC likeness this is a fairly decent beer. I could probably drink a few of these, but not too frequently.

Pours a clear golden color with a decent head and not much visible carbonation. The overall smell is of artificial strawberry over the top of some malt, not a lot of complexity to the malt. The taste is the same, there is a good taste of strawberry but maybe slightly artificial balanced out by a easy malt. The mouthfeel is good, little carbonation but smooth. The drinkability is good, there is nothing to make you dislike it and its easy drinking, however, the slightly artificial taste could get annoying after a little bit.

Poured from the weird labelled bottle into a pint glass. Label reminds me of the Stone Temple Pilots "Shangri La Dee Da" album cover. Pours a dirty yellow color, little foam, no lacing

Smell is faint strawberries buried amongs the malt. Tastes like that too - slightly sweet, never too much fruit - a decent enough balance that stays smooth, goes downs easy, with a little bit of flavor.

Few would say this is a great beer, but I think it qualifies as a decent enough brew, if you are into the fruit beer sort of thing. If not, definitely a skipper.
