I visited this place (now closed) back in November 2007. This was one of the three venues run by the chain bar-restaurant back then, which did not brew beer on the premise so not a brew-pub as such.
On my visit, all outdoor seats were located under rain-covers or tents, with decoration and waiters&waitresses Halloween-themed. All 3 house beers were served from growler-like containers sotred in the fridge (there's no bar), coming in German steiner-type handled jugs of 5 different sizes. Due to the 7:3 proportion of serving, all the beers I had came undermeasured, as the glasses didn't have a standardised line to indicate the full measure. What a pity. I challenged the waiters on this but they insisted this is the classic way of serving beers in Germany. I said, yes, but in most cases them German glasses are oversized with lines! To this there was no response - I guessed I just had to put up with it, since I enjoyed most of my drink during the happy hours. Apart from this, the service in general was friendly and interactive, pretty good by the Taiwanese standard.
I heard from a reliable local source that the recipe and the brewer are in fact from China. For this reason and this reason alone, I find the beers very interesting and quaffable actually... All could've been better, though, if NOT served this bl**dy chilled...!
