A - Very dark color with a substantial long lasting tan head.
S - Roasted barley notes, accompanied by slight chocolate character.
T - Chocolate notes seem to dominate followed by caramel and a very slight roast note.
M - Creamy texture and a full body.

The one thing I would like to see in this beer is a bit more roasty flavors, the fermentation is clean and the nitro works well.

Pours a really nice dark brown color, nice carbonation, with a very nice thick two-finger creamy off-white head, which leaves some very nice thick sticky lacing behind. The nose is very nice , malty, with some nice chocolate notes. The taste is very nice and malty, very nice touch of chocolate. Medium body. Overall very very tasty.

A bottle left over after GABF judging and given to me as a reward for my volunteer efforts. Pours a finger of large-bubbled brown head over a pitch liquid. Smells dry roast, light smoke, dark chocolate, earthy and grassy hops.

Tastes very nice. Roast, dark chocolate, fig and anise, earthy hop flavor, wintergreen, and a bit of lemon pucker. The beer has a pleasing sour that I'd guess comes from black malt. Sour is works well in this style if done right, it's difficult to get right, and they have done it right. Usually this type of sour has an accompanying acidity, but this beer avoids that. Wonderful balance between roast, hop flavor and clean hop bitter. Clean alcohol contributes just a bit. The finish dries rapidly with a roast feel in the mouth. The aftertaste is earthy hops with an enjoyable zippy sting from roast bitter, hop bitter, and sharp carbonation. A bit watery in the mouth, but that keeps the beer from sticking, thereby helping the dryness. Well done.

On-tap at the Kannah Creek brewpub during a geology field trip. Great weather, great food, great company, and pretty darn good beer...who could ask for anything more? Oh yeah, how about a random drunk Hawaiian guy named Josh who wouldn't stop rambling about the movie "American Psycho"? Funny stuff.

Black Bridge Stout proudly displays a sharp boundary (some might call it an 'unconformity') between its creamy, nitroficated dark tan head and the jet-black, opaque liquid below. The foam is mottled and retains superbly well, draping thick rings of lacing along the inside of the pint glass. Aromas suggest roasted dark chocolate malts and a hint of sour Guinness-like qualities. A bit grainy and on the lighter side, but still enticing.

The flavor presents a plethora of dark roasted coffee and chocolate notes alongside a soft fig and raisin fruitiness. The hops taste earthy and organic, and add a light bitterness to the back of the palate. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth and light-bodied, making the drinkability off the charts. Sure, BBS isn't the most overly complex stout out there, but it definitely gets the job done after a long day of hiking through the Colorado canyons.

Appearance: Black with a frothy white head, obviously a well made stout.

Smell: Milk chocolate with a hint of cappucino. Roasted malty goodness.

Taste: Bittersweet chocolate with a creme brulee hint to it. Nice sweetness, would be a great beer with desert.

Mouthfeel: Creamy malted chocolate, like a shake almost, but not as thick. Yummy

Drinkability: Great finish to a tasting. If I wasn't so in love with their Pigasus Porter I would have another one of these.
