It's good. A certain type of "bock" beer that looks like a pale ale or pils in color and head. The aroma has some fruitiness surprisingly and in a good way. The taste is pleasurable and delightful but not overbearing in any direction. I believe there may be some corn addition but it does not deter my enjoyment. I would probably try some of their other beers in fact. It drinks like a high quality Eastern Euro strong lager (better than some other Eastern Euro beers in fact). A bit sweet on the taste, yet balanced and mildly hoppy for nice warming brew although it may not fit the super standard bock description, I do see the parallel and stylization and do not believe that it warrants any argument over the style after all it is a speciality of Lithuiana, a region in which the USA does not receive a great amount of imports.

They call it a Bock, but they must only be talking about its strength.
Personally, I vote for putting this is the strong Euro lager style.
It looks light like one, it has an undistinguished nose and lots of carbonation.
It is malty, for which I give it some points.
And we should encourage Baltic brewers to make Bock beer, but this is not one.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a pale, light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet, malty. Taste is grains, some malts, a bit of an off taste, lacks the breadiness I expect from the style. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

mouthful is smooth.medium carbonation.

500ml aluminum can purchased at an Eki supermarket in Vilnius. They call this a "premium quality bock beer." Brewed with magnum hops. Best before date is on the underside of the can.

A: Pours a straw yellow body and a creamy beige cap. Head is frothy and retains well (for ~6 minutes). The beer looks like any cheap pale lager...not like a bock. So far, so bad.

Sm: Creamed wheat. Cheap malted barley. Off-puttingly stale floral hop character. Buttery notes.

Seems too sweet, and the alcohol is poorly disguised. This one isn't so inviting, unfortunately.

T & Mf: Artificial - has that classic "cheap beer" taste comprised of cheap malt extract and generic malted barley. I wouldn't be surprised if some maize adjunct crept into the malt bill. Hop profile is nonexistant. Has a coating buttery feel to it, which emphasizes the off-putting sweetness that makes this beer so poor. Overcarbonated, and artificially thick and hefty on the palate, flirting with syrupy. The flavour profile is as shallow and simple as they come, but alcohol warmth is obvious.

Is there even a need to talk about things like balance and nuance? This could be the poster child for the phrase "cheap beer" - and when I say "cheap," I don't mean merely inexpensive.

O: Meconium. Don't bother.

Perhaps it's called 7.30 in reference to the average time of day its intended demographic tends to start consuming it...

Low D- (1.80) / AVOID

Following a Baltic porter, this isn’t as bad as the scores and reviews would lead you to believe. Grain sweetness prevails, aroma is wheat and some citrus. Taste is mostly white bread, with a hint of citrus. No alcohol burn as would be expected. Better than rated.

From Festival de las Naciones. In Paulaner glass. Watching Vikings 3x10. Nice and very drinkable, although it doesnt have any resemblance to what I thought it was a bock (Im thinking in La Trappe's one) Its more like a strong euro lager.

A - Light goldish yellow color. Looks more like a pilsner or a helles. Active carbonation but not an overly large head. Light and bubbly white head disappears fast leaving little lacing.

S - Good amount of vegetal and maize/DMS aroma on the nose. Some light grain notes with a hay-like smell. Hint of grassy herbal aroma.

T - Follows the nose with slightly less vegetal and slightly more grainy flavor. Musty grain flavor with subtle notes of grassy/herbal hops. Fairly sweet with a bit of an off flavor.

M - Light body, medium carbonation, and pretty watery. Slightly dry on the finish.

D - Alcohol is fairly well hidden. A bit on the sweet side. Easy to drink but I'm not exactly reaching for it due to the vegetal flavor.

Notes: More or less what you would expect from a 7.3% ABV lager from the Baltics. Has some off flavors, particularly vegetal/corn/DMS but overall is sweet. Not worth getting, but not too off for the style.
