Decent variety lurks in the tiny beer display. Some bottles purchased I later discovered to be many months beyond their best-by dates and were skunky, although the clerk had earlier assured me turnover is extremely rapid. Another problem is the beer is right in the front window so the sunlight might be a problem. The pricing is ok if you just want singles. By the six-pack or case it's high.
The real enigma is the service. Is it excellent or poor? Still not sure yet, so am going with average for now. As others have mentioned, they offer to order any beer you might want. And the offer seems very sincere and enthusiastic. I was impressed. So I made a list of beers I wanted (all brewed in the USA and fairly widely distributed, though maybe not too common in FL) and asked if any could be ordered. Got an initial somewhat promising response, but like a week afterward, I am wondering if they have simply lost interest. I'll update as appropriate.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, the service has proven itself to be completely lacking and misleading. After receiving no response I sent a follow-up inquiry. Still no response. Very unprofessional.
august 2008: can't find an entry for their edgewood avenue location in murray hill, but that one has beer now and seems to be doing a better job than san marco was last year. i recommend trying that one out.

As the previous reviewer stated, this place has a great selection of wines (hence the store's name). The beer is basically an after thought. There is a very small, although high quality, selelction of beers. The Rogues are well represented and they also carried a few from the Dogfish line. The prices were very reasonable. The service was very good, even going to the point of offering to place special orders for you. If you're doing some wine shopping check it out and you can probably go home with some good beer too.

The Wine Warehouse, as the name implies, sells wine. But just inside the door, to the right, is a corner of beers. And it's a pretty decent selection: Rogue Ales, Lost Coast, North Coast, Avery, Great Divide, Boulder Brewing, Ommegang, Sierra Nevada, and some other harder to find brews; both import and American micros. Average price is $1.50 per bottle, with some cheaper, and some more expensive, but you can break 6-packs to take home a variety. For the area, you won't find a better selection (at least I haven't found one yet!). The guys in there seem knowlegeable, and enjoy drinking better beers, and they are very helpful. Also said they could order anything not in stock. Overall, great selection and not to bad pricing. It's become my go-to beer store!
Update 3/14/06: The first time I was in this store, it was great...they had a lot in stock...subsequent trips have been very hit or miss.
