This Winter Brown Ale poured a dark brown with nice tan foam that left some lace on the glass. The smell was malty but faint. The taste was dominated by malt: some mild caramel and coffee flavors and a roasted malt flavor in the finish. There was very low hop character. The mouthfeel was smooth with moderate carbonation, and the body was medium. The drinkability was good. This brown ale reminded me of a mild porter.
