a - pale amber/straw colored with a thin, coarse head and some nice leggy lacing.

s - floral and fruity, almost citrusy. not a very full bouquet, more like a single flower with some baby's breath.

t - a little on the grainy side. some malt up front with a little bitterness in back. overtones of apple or citrus fruit, but not enough to really pick them out. cleans up nicely.

m - light to medium bodied with a coarser co2 profile than their other brews.

d - easily sessionable with it's mild flavor and low abv (5.2%).

while this is a decent beer, it's certainly nothing to write home about.

Tried at the brewery. Light yellow colour with some lace. Floral aroma. Some fruitiness and understated hops, some citrus. Mouthfeel is about right, above average carbonation. Not bad, though served on the cold side maybe explained by the frigid weather.

Another winner from MCBW. Presented in a bland, pale yellow golden color with a haze about itself. Aromas of malt and bread yeast are most noted, with a touch of orange and lemon citrus blend hanging around for those willing to notice it. Taste was quite good; citrus, malt, grain, some hops and a natural sweet character made this beer very enjoyable. Mouthfeel was smooth and easy drinking. Higher level of drinkability. Give it a try, as it's a sure winner for any APA lover. Recommended.

A: A transparent golden color with no head at all at the top and barely any lacing on the glass.

S: Some bready appeal to this one and some hints of citrus.

T: Taste just like the nose, with some sweetness on the tail end but nothing crazy, very simple.

M: Medium bodied, slight carbonation.

O: I wouldnt order this again, it tasted good with lunch though, it may have been flat but I am not sure.

Undated 12oz purchased at the brewery and poured into a pint glass.

Hazed gold with a tall head of white that does a good job of holding its ground and leaves ringed sheets.

Bready with some citrus aromas and a pleasant mineral aroma that builds as it warms a bit.

Nice malt flavors that are biscuity followed by bitter hops that fade in and lend good balance to the malts. Lingering bitter aftertaste that eventually comes clean.

Moderate mouth that falls right in line with style guidlines and has the right amount of carb to wash it all away. A very solid and drinkable PA.

purchased from half time enjoyed in an IPA glass

The color is pale golden with very hazed appearance and the glass was tilted and the beer poured slowly, but the head filled the glass half full of head, lace sticks well. The smell is very floral with a a slightly funky aroma making me wonder if it is infected kind of barnyard -brett-like. The feel is very good -dry carbonated fully and slighly sweet with a fruity yeast element. It would probably be rated higher as a belgian pale if the yeast was intentional but it was probably just a happy accident since it gives the mouthfeel a crispness and dry non-cloying effect.

The taste is good some mild hoppiness up front and light sweetnes with a subtle brett yeast flavor which adds to the spice from the hops and mild tea-like taste with some tropical fruit flavor. The overall take on this is a nicely hopped pale I think I enjoy the light wild yeast aspect whether or not it is intentional it works in the beer's favor. This is very drinkable and it grew on me more as I drank it, a quaffable pale with a twist.

Not a bad pale ale. Exceptionally pale in color, and the medium all-white head dissipates exceptionally fast. But the aroma of this beer is exceptional. Honey, lemon, and bread grace the nose and transition into a light sweetness with a lively feel on the tongue. Finishes with a brief hop bite that's dry but yet still almost a little sloppy. I recommend that you not drink this beer too cold lest you lose the delicate aromas. Not a bad one, and I'm always a fan of any beer made or served in D-town, the motor city!

A very solid offering from the under-appreciated, Motor City Brewing Works. This one pours out to a light brown in the glass with a decent head. The aroma is that of malt, fresh baked bread and citrus. The taste is very good and shows a nice balance between the malt and hops, making for an easy to drink beer. Poured clean from the tap and was overall, very refreshing. A session Pale.

This is just a GOOD BEER. It's a safe pale ale that's hard not to like. Of the beers at MCBW, this may be my favorite just ahead of their flagship Ghetto Blaster. It's very mild, smooth, lightly carbonated, and with a watery mouth feel like most of the beers at this place. I'd get another one if I were to visit again, for sure. It's not unique by any means, but it still makes for an EXCELLENT session beer.

This was the first beer I've had from MCB and I was certainly disappointed. The color was a poop brown, there was little to no carbonation (as flat as a pancake), with no head to speak of what so ever.

For flavor, I did get a bit of corn at first, however this must have been my imagination because as I later found, it lacked flavor completely.

Two good things about this beer: 1) it came in a cool looking box, which was commented on by the neighbors; 2) it was smooth and drinkable and slightly refreshing.

Overall: save your money and buy some PBR
