Crisp and clean, this refreshing Pilsner-style lager is nicely balanced, with a malty-sweet start and slightly bitter finish. Brewed in Prince Edward County, using only malted barley, hops, yeast and water.

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for $2.95 CDN.
Appearance - slightly hazy rich pale golden color. A finger plus of head with good staying power that dwindles to a small foamy covering. No lacing.
Smell - grainy with a little too much sweetness. Not strong aromas. Not too different from many an adjunct lager.
Taste - not much. Some grainy flavors, just a touch of bitterness.
Mouthfeel - pretty light, carbonation is just right. Quite nice.
Overall - not a bad lighter lager with very good feel. Not interesting but worth a taste and works well on a hot day.

C’est What? (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

$6.65
The beer poured a clear medium gold colour with a long lasting white head. Aroma was primarily grass with a hint of floral hops. Mouthfeel was medium bodied, creamy, with mild carbonation. Flavour was grainly malt, some sweetness, and was quite refreshing.

Thoroughly unimpressed unfortunately. This was a very "by the numbers" lager, not too different from AAJ Lagers like Canadian and Blue. I'm not sure if it's an ingredients issue or just not great brewing technique but I've had it a couple times and wouldn't shell out a dime more for this than I would Budweiser

A- Pillowy soft off white head that is a couple fingers thick to start and is a medley of assorted bubbles that sing as they burst...excellent retention, leaving behind a lacing that is second to none! The beer itself is quite hazy when served ice cold....carbonation is tough to see but that's ok....this is one good lookin' brew!
S- Highly malty with brown sugar and caramel sweetness....hints of apricot and/or peach fruit as well in the nostrils. There is an ovaltine powder darkness hidden in the background and the finish is slightly dry....not necessarily bitter.
T- Slight chocolate sweetness and heavy on the caramel/toffee malt sweetness! I detect a well balanced presence of raw grains such as barley and perhaps some wheat.....a dry finish....slightly hopped bitterness.
M/O- Champagne like carbonation and a light/medium body....a certainly refreshing beer....good on a hot day or just on it's own....I could drink this all night....its highly drinkable! A very very decent lager!

from lcbo, bought single bottle on 3 separate occasions at different lcbo locations months apart. each time beer was off, smell of rotten apples, taste of vinegar.
I'll visit their brewery sometime and try it again, it'll be like drinking beer directly from the horse's mouth.

Although a fairly "typical" lager, no sign of adjuncts and therefore better brewed than most other beers in its class! Would appeal to many macro drinkers and might be a gateway beer to bring them into the "higher quality ingredients" (micro) side...
Pours a bright and clear light yellow colour with a limited white head that disappears quickly. Mild aroma of grains is followed by an equally light taste. Clean and crisp, even when it reaches room temperature i.e. little depth and almost no "finish" whatsoever. However believe it to have been made primarily or even solely with malted barley, so that gives it "above average" marks in my book!

A quite run of the mill brew. Pours moderate head that settles to heavy film. Gives up a bit of decent lace at the outset. Clear pale yellow brew.
Nose is light cereal, a whiff of hops. Pretty nondescript beyond that. Slightly grainy to taste, mild bitter finish, watery mouth feel.
Dull, but unoffensive.

Appearnace: Poured with three fingers of head, although my pour might have been a little too aggressive, so I'll let it slide. The body displays a very high amount of thin carbonation in it's clear golden colour. Some lace was produced and it retained well enough as well.
Smell: A mixed grain smell, reminiscent of whole grain bread as various roasted grains seem to come out, with a slight scent of sunflower seeds and honey. That being said, it's not quite as strong as I'd like it to be and warming doesn't help matters.
Taste: There's an odd slightly swampy taste to the entire beer that I could do without, but apart from that it's pretty good. It starts with some roasted, unsweetened grain taste with an odd mild smoothness that has me wondering if they used oats. It slowly slows into an earthy hop end with a slight honey touch that reigns in the bitterness well.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation seems to foam up near the end of the beer in a bit of an odd way, which seems to hide the end more then help it. The transistioning is smooth, but sadly that mixed aftertaste accents that swampy funk and clings a bit too much.
Drinkability: Light bodied and easy to handle, especially since the carbonation say down once it was in my belly. Quenches the thirst and certainly has a very natural, farm like simplicity to it. I could have another, but it'd probably overstay at three.
Final Thoughts: This started out great but as the beer went on, it started to show a couple cracks with the aftertaste & carbonation. It's still a great beer, and certainly better the most big brand adjunct lagers. A simpler beer, from a simpler time, done simply well.
