Bottle provided by Steve, from the brewery. 650ml bomber into a tulip.

Pours dark brown, with a light tan head. Good retention but no real lace to speak of. Nose hold some milk chocolate, cocoa, notes of some lactic sourness and tart cherry notes. Taste is a good reflection of the nose, milk chocolate, cocoa and sour cherry notes. No oak to speak of, even though this was 'oaked' as per the label (I'm not convinced they're using barrels - chips or spirals at best). Mouthfeel is a thin-medium, lingering chocolate and light lactic notes. Moderately drinkable, although some of the sour characteristics (from the cherries and otherwise I'd guess) weren't incorporated all too well. From what I've seen in these types of beers, the sourness doesn't seem to be completely avoidable however. Likely the best oaked offering they've put out yet, but that doesn't say much.
