Clear pale golden colour. Small head with some retention and lacing. Aroma is fruity (passionfruit) and of citrusy hops. Tastes lightly fruity with a lingering slightly bitter, flowery hop finish. Light in body, medium carbonation. A well balanced, refreshing and crisp ale.

My first experience with a growler and a bloody good one at that!

Poured a pale yellow colour with a nice head and good visable carbonation. A Little aroma, maybe that of noble hops. Crisp on the palate, with a very faint fruitiness and a kind of delicateness only possible with a Kolsch. I love this style and I'm glad to see an Aussie brewery that has provided a true example.

The Growler didn't last long between the two of us. Lost a bit of carbonation as we worked through it.

It seems to be known as Colonial Kolsch Ale now, and not Spruikers Challenge as per the title here.

Drank on Tap at Colonial, Margaret River.

A - Pours a pale clear golden colour with a white frothy head that dies quick.

S - A little apple and grain but not much else (not expected for this style).

T - Soft malts and a little sweetness, a little bitter on the finish

M - Medium to light body with medium carbonation.

O - A decent Kolsch that will quench a thirst

Pours a clear, pale straw. White light head which sinks.
Passionfruit, "cat piss" nose.... (Cascade hop)
Flavours of passionfruit again, lychee, seedy/grainy/malty..crisp bread flavour.
Very light mouthfeel.... kind of like drinking Sauvignon Blanc.
The crispbread maltiness is similar to German Kolschs I've tried. The Cascade is a differentiating factor, however, but not unwelcome. An interesting & tasty combination.
