Starts with an oaky tartness. Then the fruit comes in. A little bit of grassy notes. But the finish is not quite there, it seems a little off. Maybe too acedic something?

Date: 11/7/14
Location: Captain Lawrence Brewery
Draught/Bottle: 13oz. Brown Bottle
Glassware: Snifter

Appearance: A light golden/Amber color that softens at the edges. The beer allows a lot of light in and is fairly easy to see through. Pours with a half inch white head that evaporates nearly instantly. No cling present when the beer is swirled.
Aroma: Very tart sour yeast aroma which blends well with the fruity pomegranate which incorporates. The fruit is slightly sweet and has the smells of pulp and seeds. The barrel aging comes through as well as you get a lot of oak. A little alcohol can be found in the finish I almost have trouble believing this beer is 4.0% ABV.
Taste: Not surprisingly the beer is again very tart. The pomegranate is present but has trouble cutting through all the tart and oak flavors. Again only slightly sweet. Some hay and grass flavors find themselves in the tasting. The oak provides a slightly woody flavor.
Mouthfeel: Light to Medium body with very high carbonation. The carbonation really pushes around that sour tartness on your tongue and really leaves you smacking you lips. I get a pretty good alcohol taste from this beer considering how low in ABV it is.

Notes: Barrel Select Series. Pomegranate sticker attached to the bottle.
Simply stated "Bottled on 14"

Bottle shared by Rob at the Meeting tonight, thanks for the opportunity!
Lightly hazy huge lactic nose. Intense tartness with the pomegranate somehow holding it all together. Nice brew.

Thanks to BA facesnorth for gifting me with a bottle of this. Poured into a matching CL cervoise, the brew appears a clear copper with off-white head composed of large bubbles that fades quick.

The aroma is tangy with sourness and funk. Somewhat fruity with pomelgranite, and a seedy character blending to funky in the nose like ripe cheese. Some oakiness is present smelling of vanilla. Despite the unique fruit inclusion, this smells quite familiar like most CL sours.

The taste is quite tart with oak and tannins/seedy pomelgranite character. Some soft oak like vanilla/caramel across the back. The blend of fruit to wild character is very enjoyable but as it warms up, earthy brett dominates the aftertaste.

This is medium bodied and modestly carbonated. A nice blend of tart verse fruity with the barrel still shining through. I would drink this again, nicely done.

Pour is light caramel, a touch of haze to it, small amount of tight white head. Nose has a bit of caramel malt, very acetic in the nose, rubbery, light pomegranate fruit. Taste is very similar, a bit malty, extremely acetic and plastic phenols, Syrupy feel, moderate carb, biting and dry finish. Not much fruit, a little.
