This is the perfect beer to drink as the weather starts to turn a bit cooler. Brewed with puréed pumpkins added directly to the mash, and traditional pumpkin pie spices add to the end of the boil, this beer packs a ton of flavor into a malty and smooth amber-colored ale.

12 oz bottle.
Pours clear dark amber with visible rising carbonation bubbles and a good off-white head. Ample sticky lacing.
Aroma: dominated by winter and pumpkin pie spices.
The flavor is a little better and much less sweet than the aroma suggests. A nice mix of pumpkin pie spices dominate but do not over-power. Faint pumpkin.
Medium-full body with near medium carbonation.

Dark burnt brownish amber color. Tastes like a very autumnal lager. There's noticeable pumpkin but not necessarily in a sweet cloying sense, definitely malty and Oktoberfest like with the addition of noticeable pumpkin spice. A nice and casual, sessionable Fall beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of spices, pumpkin. Taste is spices, subtle pumpkin, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it's a standard issue pumpkin beer.

Had this on draft while walking through Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze in NY. Poured into a plastic cup, slightly cloudy orange / gold with a thin, white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma was that of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and a dark bread. Taste was not too heavy on the pumpkin spice with medium carbonation.

Overall, enjoyable without being "in your face". . .

Batch A 2022

I can't believe this is my first new Pumpkin Beer of the season. I've mostly been sticking to the old classics so far, but I'm excited to see what else it's out there. Let's start off with Captain Lawrence's take on the seasonal style

Pours a slightly cloudy orange gold with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

It leans a bit too hard into the spice vibe in the nose, but it's still not bad. I'm picking up on aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, dark bread, baked pumpkin, light caramel, and allspice

Unfortunately, it goes further into the pie spice realm in taste without much actual pumpkin to back it up. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting dark bread, nutmeg, allspice, caramel malt, earthy hops, and light pumpkin. The swallow brings notes of cinnamon, herbal hops, dark toast, baked pumpkin, and light vanilla

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a sharp and spicy beer. Finishes slightly sticky and surprisingly hoppy

This isn't the worst thing ever, but it's certainly a bit odd. Not quite the best way to start off a season of new Pumpkin Beers, but I guess it can only go up from here???

12oz can into a pint glass. 2021 release.

Looks pretty good in the glass. Slightly hazy burnt orange body. Small off white head persists as a thick collar and covering, leaves streaks of lacing.

Aroma is a bit odd. Combination of sweet malt with a non too pleasant veggie undertone.

On tasting, spices are present but not overpowering or harsh. Soft, guessing from the pumpkin puree. Veggie from the nose doesn't translate to the taste. Nicely balanced.

Mouth medium, finish a warming but not bitter spice mix.

Overall, nicely made fall beer. Balanced, perhaps benefiting from several months in the can. Would have again.

Features pureed pumpkin and "traditional" pumpkin pie spices... Has a vegetal spiced character - lots of pumpkin-like flavors - tastes like the pumpkins were pulled from damp dark soil - very earthy and rustic - I'm diggin' it...

Really enjoyed the spice flavor to this pumpkin ale...

...it sure made it unique to me. I found this to be the spiciest pumpkin ale I've had - not spicy-hot, just spicy-spice. Anyway, a solid member of the style and one I will never hesitate to reach for again.

This amber can pour is clear with a thin cap of fine tan foam.
The aroma is light with herbaceous notes.
The flavor includes malt, a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon and a hint of woody hops.
The brew is more wet than crisp in the finish.
-good enough for an amber ale in October.

From the can, it pours a clear pumpkin amber color with a nice off-white head that lasts and leaves lacing. The nose gets a dosing of pumpkin spices, although lightly. The mouth gets socked with the flavor of pumpkin pie spice that lingers. Smooth feel across the tongue.

The pour is similar to iced tea. The taste is pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, & vanilla. This is a good low abv pumpkin ale. Cheers! B

A: Soft, almost ice tea coloring from the pour has a quickly dissipating light tan head. A burnt caramel orange colored body fills the vessel with a slight carbonation that was hard to detect in the thick of things. No standing head or lace decorative. Nice fall coloring, reminds me of the dark orange leaves of the northeast fall season.

S: Pumpkin pie spicing, a nice dusting of nutmeg, powdery, dry, has some sweet cinnamon highlights with a dash of ginger. Fresh pie crust, moist breadiness of dried honey and buttery caramel cookies. Nice warm toasted malting. Overall a good balance of the pumpkin pie spicing and caramel pumpkin puree that never leans to much in favor of the other.

T: The flavor was spritzy pumpkin caramel, bold and flavorful, lively spiciness of nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Dry toasted Munich malts and grains, pumpkin puree and fresh pie crust as with the nose. Warm floral scents of dried honey-pine, that was woodsy, with some cinnamon bark and a lingering dry spicing of nutmeg.

M: Nice maltiness on the mouthful. Ample to style, full, with some honey thickness like substance and a soft carbonation adds to the mix.

O: A nice full and fall style beer, perfectly suited for that Northeast chill. Warm toasted malting, sweet and grainy, Oktoberfest like, with a good balance of the pumpkin pie spicing and natural pumpkin elements. Sturdy backbone, toasted pumpkin, good drinkability. worthy a try.

Pour hazy copper. Mild sweet aroma. Has a nice sweetness to it but it lacks the real pumpkin ale essentials like...pumpkin. Some what bland. This would have been a good pumpkin ale 10 years ago.
