I’m not overly impressed...sorta has a bitter/sour aftertaste dusted with pepper...I’m not really getting the citrusy/tropicalness others are tasting...not a true NEINPA IMO. Sorry.

12/7/19...on tap at brewery. Cloudy gold with light white foam. Faint citrus nose. Pine bitter flavoring. Quite smooth. Bitter intermingles. Heavier on the citrus. Peppery too. Very nice.

Immediately blown away by the great mango and citrus smell, poured a nice hazy yellow. Mango flavor definitely dominates with other citrus flavors coming through. Decent to light on carbonation. Very smooth drinking. Just an overall fantastic juicy classic NE IPA with mango flavors throughout

Pours a murky yellow, light gold with normal carbonation. Aroma is of mango, maybe some peach, lots of fruit and a little citrus. Taste is much the same with a creamy mouth feel. Between the gentle bitterness and peachy hop flavor and the mouth feel this is one IPA that has a good smoothie feel to it but no lactose as far as i'm aware.

A: extremelyyyy hazy dark matte orange color with some amber notes. Thin white head that fades to a film pretty quickly

S: green raw hops, a hint of chalk, apricots, tangerine, orange peel , clementine, and something slightly soapy

T: super interesting hop combo in here. Mango, clementine, earthy herbal slightly bitter hops, and dark red strawberry. A little bit of onion and garlic as well. Sweet caramel and some dank sweetness also. Biscuity malt in the background

M: medium, slightly fluffy. Low carbonation

O: very nice hop combo in here. Not too heavy but not still with some body. I’d buy again. The aroma Is lacking, but the flavor is nice

I am not usually a fan of the New England IPA/hazy. To me the weak spot with this beer was the aroma or lack of. I found this to be more to my liking than most, possibly the Citra hops ? I would drink this again were it available.

Can: Poured a dirty hazy/cloudy yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fresh green citrusy hops notes with some light tropical notes. Taste is a mix of dank hops notes, huge citrusy and tropical notes with some residual sugar notes with almost no bitterness in the aftertaste. Body is full with good carbonation. Super enjoyable juicy IPA.

Can dated 12/28/18 into pint glass. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a thin white head. Initial impression is a very juicy dose of orange, grapefruit, mango, light caramel, and lime. Not your "soft" NEIPA - feels more like a West Coast IPA. Carbonation is refreshingly prickly. Finish is slightly bitter. Not bad but unremarkable.

This has to be the worst beer I have ever tasted. I am a huge New England IPA beer style fan and this was the furthest thing from it, I couldn't even get past 1/2 the can before I had to waste it.

Hazy dirty tan; specks of dank, lime + herb; ringing lime, some mint, peach, hints of evergreen, big citrus comeback; tingly + smooth.

3.75 3.75 4 4 4

Citra + Motueka.

Dank with a dim nose. The hops unsurprisingly give grapefruit + lime. So, lots of jumpy citrus, with NEIPA shapes that hides the ABV. But also kinda like boozy 7-Up. Doesn’t hold a candle to the likes of Equilibrium.

I found some (almost too) sweet pineapple and a bit of mango plus orange juice. Precious little malt to discern and there was a lingering unpleasant aspirin note. Still feeling my around NEIPA's, this was a bit shy of top tier to me.

Poured into a Nordic Sixpoint glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a hazy yellow with a 1 inch finger of sticky white head that that leaves thick streaks of lace behind.

Smell is guava, pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit rind, and a hint of blueberry.

Taste follows guava, tangerine, pineapple upfront with mild grapefruit and blueberry in the balanced juicy finish.

Mouthfeel is a big medium, plenty of life but soft, a touch sticky, and at 7.5% goes down easy enough, but loaded with flavor.

Overall this is a nice NEIPA that hits most of the right spots. Well done.

Just your typical excellent hazy ipa. Juicy and delicious but lacking any bite. I like an ipa that you can feel the sting of hops. I know the neipa style of hazy unfiltered ipas leaves that out so in all fairness this is a good example. It’s on par with wrench and sloop juice

On the Tree House scale of New England IPA's (near perfect New England IPA's) this was not terrible or thrilling. The taste was unoffensive but dull and forgettable. Too many beers to drink and I only drink one a night, I will remember this negatively, I will remember to not have again.

Simply a fantastic IPA. Huge aromas of citrus and slightly dank tropical fruit with a touch of bitterness. Clean, crisp malt bill. Soft mouthfeel. Easily my favorite Captain Lawrence IPA to date.

On tap:
The yellow body allows a bit of light through, but appears more hazy without the closer inspection. Large bubbles look soapy and stock to the edge where they provide a few streams of lace.

Nose is leaning citrus and slightly fruity with a hint of what I’ll call a coconut/ripe melon/papaya component that I attribute in part to the Montueka.

Taste starts with the same notes as the nose, but with a malt infusion that lightens the impact a tad. The middle brings the grassy/sweet herbal/coconut flavor I know I get from Montueka. A tangerine/lemon citrus strain come through in the end, where a light grassy bitterness closes things.

No quite medium body, its feel fits with its look. A nice, fairly balanced IPA that has two hops I like, and I get the flavor of each.

I tried this at the brewery. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had tropical fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with citrus presence. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

This beer was a nice surprise. Took a chance on a recommendation from my local BD. My "goto" IPA has been CCBC Jai Alai for a long time. The combo of the Motueka and Citra really make this IPA stand out to me. Rarely does an IPA as fragrant as this taste this good!!! It pours well, with an even cloudiness, and finely frothy head. First whiff brings in the tropics with pineapple, guava, star fruit and a hint of dank and pine. Flavor goes big on citrus notes, with hints of lime and mint... almost mojito-like... with just enough malt to balance out the bitter... to me at least. Very smooth mouth feel with fine carbonation. I LOVE it!

My only gripe is that its got a relatively high ABV... I could easily finish the 4 pack alone, but might be little further buzzed than I wanted to go.

If you like IPA's, this is a must try.

Phenomenal! Had on tap, two weeks ago at O’Connor’s Public House in New Milford, CT and it was so memorable, I’m submitting my first (non-technical) review.

Cloudy; apricot colored body; thin yet sticky and foamy head. Spicy aroma; some citrus but with a slight peppery quality. Grapefruit and lemon pith; mild cereal grain base; bold hop bitterness. Heavy body; soft and creamy; a bit warm; dry overall.

The Motueka and Citra hops certainly stand out with this beer. The balance and complexity are outstanding, especially with the taste, melding light malt grains with deeply robust hop character. A fine beer all around...

Overall a a vey good beer. Have had lots of treehouse beer recently so it’s hard to compare. I would say that this is a very good ipa. To the nose it it has a nice subtle fruity scent. Taste is where it really shines. Nice fruity citrus malty flavor but would say it is a bit muted but it is there. All in all would buy again. Totally legit ipa!!

Poured into a pint glass via can

Clear medium dark orange in color
Smell is light citrus and pine
Taste follows the nose, but flavor is slightly muted but the citra and motueka hops blend nicely and this drinks smooth and easy..almost like a session ipa with some kick..very nice!!

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a yellowish color and a cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, mostly long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: A solid aroma of hops, citrus, tropical fruit, and malt.

T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a good shot of citrus fruit (lemon, orange), a decent amount of hops, a light grassy quality, and a bit of tropical fruit (mango, in particular). A very solid and focused flavor. This is one of those incredibly balanced (bitter and sweet) flavors that works quite well. Tasty stuff.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: While this isn't one of the most groundbreaking IPAs, it is likable. Definitely drinkable.

On tap at @ the Corner in Litchfield.

Hazy light yellow with no head. Nose is strange with a blend of lemon, key lime, but also some bitter orange and green grape. Minimal malt. Palate opens thin and mildly hoppy with a blend of lemin, peach and mango. Not a whole lot going on here. Thin and lemony on the finosh, this is weirdly disjointed.

Draught pour at City Tap. Vibrant tropical citrus nose, grapefruit, tangerine, and mango, some grassy undertones. Taste follows but not as dynamic. Finishes with mild bitterness and astringency, medium-high acidity which drys out the palate. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, silky on the tongue but with some burn from the acidity. A solid beer for sure.
