Pours a dark brown color with a healthy finger of head. The nose has both roasted notes and something sweet that's hard to place. The flavor follows the nose. The sweetness has a bit of a fake quality to it, however.

A: Pours a murky extremely dark chestnut brown in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate black + dark cola brown + mahogany colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy soapy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a medium sized patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of roasted + charred + chocolate malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. Light aromas of fudge.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + charred + chocolate malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That is followed by just shy of moderate flavors of fudge and light flavors of Carvel chocolate ice cream. Hints of earthy hops. Moderate amounts of lingering roasty bitterness.

M: Medium to full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly creamy with a hint of dryness. Slight hints of alcohol warming in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with decently hidden alcohol. This is an interesting beer - kind of a hybrid between a Dry Irish Stout and a Milk Stout with aspects of both and then the adjuncts giving the chocolate flavors. A nice choice for St Patrick's Day.

Some sweet candy notes kinda like sprinkles, some dark fruit, chocolate, dark roasted malts, ice cream, cake, bittersweet, pretty dry finish

Interesting and pretty tasty. It's not sweet, per se. The chocolate is more of a dark chocolate flavor; hence, the bitterness. There is some hoppiness in the aroma, but it's not off putting. It's lightly carbonated, though a pour produces a large tan head that hangs around for quite a while. Good for a limited-edition brew, as I don't know if this would appeal to many people year 'round.

The burnt bitterness saps all the life out of the dessert-like qualities. I love bitterness in a dry stout or porter, but this was not a very enjoyable drinking experience.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high dark tan head that left a think ing of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of roasted and chocolate malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but doesn't have as much in the way of roasted malts—there are added flavors of fudge with hints of chocolate ice cream.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is definitely very rich in flavor but comes across as being very dry and like a much heavier bodied version of an Irish Dry Stout. It definitely looked like it had some ice cream in it because some light brown colored clumps came out from the bottom of the can when I was rinsing it out.
