Created by blending our Sour Golden Ale with ripe and juicy Hudson Valley peaches. Aged in French oak foundres until the tart flavors of the beer and the sweet flavors of the peaches meld into one. Enjoy on a hot Summer day with a peach in hand.

Small (12.7 oz.) capped bottle. Been sitting in my beer closet in cold storage since the release date. Pours light amber, with a near golden hue. Some yeasty chunkage is spotted floating around and some tiny bubbles continue to rise. Dark eggshell head, thin and tiny bubble, goes to a thicker film and leaves near world class scattered larger bits of sticky lace and low lying sheeting. Bright fruity and bitingly sour nose, also quite a whiff of some serious barnyard/horse blanket. Outstanding smelling brew. The sour and funk continue onto the palate and tongue, more great fruity sourness, barnyard wild ale goodness and in general complexly good times continue to abound. Quite yeasty/cloudy final pour, adds the expected nutty note, but the sour continues to cut through and shine. Another wildly well done creation from the Captain.

L:. Pours a brilliant dark gold yellow with almost no head or lacing, even without the head or lacing it looks quite nice.
S:. A strong fuzzy peach, mixes with a touch of sweet, some nice oak, and then a strong sour factor. Smells very pleasant.
T:. A strong fuzzy peach that mixes with a nice woody oak, toasted grain, a touch of sweetness and a strong tartness.
F:. I expected carb to be a touch higher but overall pretty feel.
O:. This beer is very peachy but quite tasty.

On-tap at The Ruck, Troy, NY
A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a patch of white bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sour peaches are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having a bit stronger flavors of peaches with sourness.
M: It feels light-bodied and very tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the sourness and tartness in this beer and how it was more sour than fruity.
Serving type: on-tap

Summer 2019
Very nice funky little beer, and pretty to look at. Good amount of fizz, which goes with peach character (e.g. a fuzzy peach). Appetizing nose--indicating complexity. Didn't taste too fruity, but had the slightly sour brightness of a peach. Nice wild yeasty flavor to balance and ground the beer. Was enjoyed on a breezy porch off the New Jersey Shore :) Refreshing.

2014 edition
Almost clear dark gold with a nice white head that is quick to leave , finally a bare cap.
Fresh and over ripe peach hit first from this full strength aroma., some spicy and rotted fruit funk notes join it, very fragrant oak notes accentuate the white wine character that is here. I get a bit of strawbery. Sourdough tart with a bit of grainy character also, and even some floral sweetness complete this wonderful bouquet
Oh man, that peach though, fresh fruit flavor all these years later, overripe peach notes too, just brilliant peachy goodness, so much peach. Rounded sourdough tart is stronger than expected, some sharper notes too. Oak balances it, a clean not at all tannic flavor like the scent of a fresh barrel. The wine character is less than in the aroma. Sip ends with spicy funk, cresting tart, and a light herbal hit to make this perfection.
It is silky, easy drinking, low/med. carb, very viscous, clean as a whistle, finish is a long linger of excellence.
Complex peach driven mix of oak and fruity funk, that drinks like a dream. Highest recommendation

12.7oz bottle served in a pair of tulips. 2018 bottle.
First pour was a nice clear golden. Not much head or carbonation. Smell is tart -- I could believe peaches, but I wouldn't pick it out if it wasn't on the label.
Taste is similar. More lemony, I think. Mild bitterness mixed in there.
Mouthfeel is dry, very dry. Overall, good beer.

these captain lawrence wild beers have been totally hit or miss in my experience, when they hit they crush, but not all of them do, so i was a little skeptical of this, but one sniff and my fears were assuaged. its a really cool picture of peaches, the nose is so authentic, so fruit forward, juicy fuzzy real ripe peach even in front of any acidity or oak character, its beautiful, mouthwatering, natural, i want to bite into the peaches this was brewed with! the beer has nice balance, some serious acidity, but enough wood and grain body for it to not seem out of place. i cannot believe how forward and fresh the peach is in this, its insane. lots of white wine too, oak tannins, and wild yeast maturity, really next level development of the flavors, all the elements coming together so well. shockingly strong too, it doesnt drink like that, especially with the high level carbonation that really makes it sing. the grain stays in a support role only, enough to make it more beer than fruit wine, but minimal in a way that lets the fruit stand almost alone, unmolested in all its ripe dripping glory. i wonder how long this took to make, it seems really dialed in and mature. special beer here, among the best of its type that i have had from captain lawrence to date!
