Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light straw amber with a hint of gold and a quarter finger white head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of pale malt, grassy hops and an unusual dried fruit note the smells tropical; a hint of skunk. Flavor is light grainy malt, grassy hops, similar dried tropical fruit notes as the aroma. Finishes with grainy pilsner malt and light grassy hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This was better than I anticipated (light lagers from small places in green bottles are not destined to elicit excitement). The unusual fruit component really adds to the flavor and sets this apart from a far Eastern Hemisphere lager. While its freshness has probably not been protected as well as possible, bit is a quite satisfying pilsner style lager with appropriate malt and hops. More robust and interesting than I hoped. Worth a try, and probably a miracle in its homeland far from the heart of craft brewing.

I lived in Samoa for several years, and this is the beer to drink. Locally, they come in large bombers which had a wide variety of taste, strength, etc. Not much quality control or so it seemed. The export, the small green bottles, seemed to have a much more controlled profile. I am reviewing the export, since I just came into a case of it...

Pours crystal clear light golden color. Small white head that dissipates rather quickly. Medium amount of carbonation rising.

Aroma is malts, adjuncts, grassy....and something a little strange that I can't quite place.

Taste is light malts, small amounts of hops, lager yeast and light grass.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and cleansing.

Overall, a decent brew. Very drinkable and sessionable. Better than I was expecting.

Retired??? No way!!! Bought in Nadi, Fiji. $4 dollars Fiji a bottle.

Retired Tick!!! 355 ML poured into a rocks glass.

A-- Poured a clear straw color. Lots and lots of little carbonation bubbles with the pour. One finger bright white head. Good head retention and body to head. Looks better than the Fiji stuff I have had.

S-- Crisp aroma. Little bit of hops and a good malt body. Grassy smell, with a touch of spicy and floral. Smell like a European lager.

T-- Bread, grass, a little floral, and a little bit of a hard mineral taste. Nothing too offensive though.

M-- Clean, crisp, long lasting grass feel. has a bit of a hard sparkling mineral water feel with the metallic mineral taste but a better feel than others. Spicy and prickly carbonation. Clean and refreshing.

O-- Maybe I have been in the South Pacific too long. I liked this. Easy to drink even warm. More of a sparkling mineral water taste warm but if I like this warm. Would be really good ice cold on a hot, humid day. Better than a lot of the Aussie beers in this style.
