On-tap served in a mug.

A- It had a nice foamy head and great lacing with a cloudy gold body.

S- The aroma was textbook Belgian with an emphasis on the spiciness (mostly clove).

T- It was a little overwhelming on the spice, otherwise close to the style.

M- Full feel that was slightly grainy, but good.

D- It was a decent drinker. High spice level prevents a higher score.

I just had this beer at the GRBC about an hour ago. I like to see that they have something to offer other than the typical style selections. The beer came in an appropriate tulip glass which was quite nice but there was no head, no bubbles, no sign of any carbonation! It also looked piss yellow. Quite sad. But I move on. The initial sniff rendered a sweet corny characteristic. I inhaled again, this time it was very nice with a fruity bouquet and some clove. The taste had a lot of fruityness in it. The fruits were almost wine like in taste, sweet and sour. The spices (Belgian candi sugar, clove) gave a sweetness different than offered by the fruits. Finish held for awhile with yeast and clove becoming more dominant. This one was a bit watery and seemed almost liked an overly sweetened dumb down tripel. But it was still nice to drink and very refreshing.
