From what I remember they were selling this as a stout, maybe I am incorrect though. A nice black pour with a whitish head. Roasted malt and some coffee. Aroma does not lie, tastes similarly with some slight chocolate tones. Pretty dry clean finish. Far and away the best of their regular offerings.

A good offering from the GR Brewing Co. Dark brown with a smaller head. Flavors are quite strong up front. Really sweet and buttery. Buttery diacetyl is there in the body. Caramel is strong along with a dark coffee flavor. Hops are present in the middle and mellow the malts. The finish is a combination of the two and lasts in my mouth until my next bite of food. Definitely had some bite to it.

A very dark ruby/rust color, with a ligh brown head pretty good retention and lacing. Carbonation is mild.Aroma is of coffee, dark chocolate, butterscotch, and floral hops. Taste is dark coffee, rasins, coco, butterscotch, and hints of the same basic hop flavor that everythig else here has.Mouthfeel is pertty good,a bit thin I guess. This was drinkable and maybe one of the few beers I would order here again.Meh

On-tap poured into a mug.

A- Very dark brown with a thin tan head. The head quickly turned into a nice lace that left a decent stick on the glass.

S- It gave a nutty/roasted malt scent. Very solid, but a tad lighter in aroma than expected.

T- Very solid flavor. More robust than the scent. Again some nutty notes in the flavor along with some sweeter malty tones.

M- Very good mouthfeel for the style. Mild carbonation and smooth going down.

D- Really drinkable beer. Great flavor, but not too strong or heavy to drink more than one.

Overall- Solid beer that pairs well with the comfort food offered on the GRBC menu. It went really well on this rainy fall evening.

Got this one on a sampler, beer was very dark, almost opaque with a thin rim of head around the glass. Small bits of sticky lacing. The smell was of burnt chocolate and carmel. The taste is smokey chocolate and coffee with a hoppy finish. The mouthfeel was full bodied, and could have used some more carbonation. This is a fairly drinkable beer, but the hoppy finish was a little too dominating.

Clear, very dark mahogany with ruby accents, forming a tan head with excellent retention and lacing. Carbonation is mild to moderate. Aroma is of light coffee, mild dark chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, and floral hops. Taste is dark coffee, very English style fruitiness, more butterscotch, a herbal bitterness, and a finish that is aannoyingly long. Nice at first, but a nasty alcoholic vanilla finish. Mouthfeel is bright and initially zingy, with a medium-dense body and a ruddy, wooden finish.

Pours a thick, creamy, irridescent black in color with a finely thin layer of tan foam brushed across the top of the ale. Smells very good also, notes of toffee, coffee, chocolate, chalk, and malts come through strongly. A very toasted beginning flavor leads way to the other things I noticed in the aroma, dark chocolate, coffee, and just enough hops to balance the taste of the brew. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, to call it heavy might be overdoing it just a tad. Quite a nice beer here, this one really stands out amongst the beers that Ive tried at this location. It really seems to be hit or miss at GRbrewing, but this one is a hit in my book.
