The huckleberry is native to the Pacific Northwest and it is prized for its sweetness and texture. To celebrate summer and the huckleberry picking season, we have blended real huckleberries from last season with our cream ale.

12oz can. Label has the beer name as 'MOUNTAIN HOUND HUCKLEBERRY CREAM ALE'. Bottom date stamp is 'CANNED ON: 08/23/23 BATCH 2030 - HUCK'.
Clear, pale gold colored body. One finger of white head. Leaves behind short strings of lacing.
Aroma has a definite berry smell, and this is likely huckleberry.
Taste continues with the huckleberry, with a toasted malt base. Late profile gets a bit of sourness, before this there is more sweetness.
Medium mouth feel. A little taut at the finish. Good carbonation.
Refreshing berry ale.

Some fruit added to Laughing Dog’s cream ale makes for a sweet drink, perfect for a hot summer’s day. Body from the cream ale is slick and velvety, huckleberries add a nice sweet touch to this drink.

A heavily scented huckleberry beer that ends up far more restrained on that flavor than we would've liked. Super creamy and thick, with a hint of huckleberry that evaporates from your mouth within seconds.

this is better than its ratings, sometimes you just have to appreciate a beer for what it is, and not always expect epic complexity and process intensiveness, sometimes less can be more, and i am fine with a simple, summery beer that makes no attempt at all to be the best or most interesting beer i have ever had. the first beer i have had from these guys in ages. i thought it might take on a little more color from the fruit, but its got no pink at all, just looks like a cream ale. aroma is a little sweet, a little jammy, could be blackberry too, not much malt underneath it so it seems a little one dimensional, but summery and light and appealing enough. the berries really drive the flavor, in fact, its all that can really be tasted here, a touch of grain sweetness maybe in the middle, but there is very little else happening here, its all quite minimal, and even though i like the fruit flavor, a little more beer character would improve this. the lightness is great though, very easy feel, no body, tons of bubbles, a nice refresher ice cold from the can, and it warms up relatively favorably for what it is too. the huckleberry is identifiable as such in the flavor which is tough to do, and it ends up on the dry side, which is somewhat surprising for how this is all fruit. my lady and i ripped right through a sixer of these!

Not my usual type of beer, but I really enjoyed the fruited cream ale here! They were able to integrate the sweet fruit flavor without compromising the cream ale style.

On tap. Dark amber appearance with white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a fairly strong pleasant huckleberry. Taste is also a pleasant huckleberry.

This beer produces a well carbonated light orange pour. The aroma is sweet, fruity fragrant, sort of like a berry type of smell, and a slight creamy smelling is following through as well as it has warmed up for a few minutes in my glass, well this was a tasty offering. I am glad to say that I was able to try a beer with huckleberries added to it. Cheers! B
