Poured into a chalice: color is black, head is light tan, head presents about 1/2 inch thick then dissipates to thin top with lacing on the glass.
Smell is nutty and then chocolaty, minor roast.
Taste is similar but not quite genuine in flavor, quite nutty, almost has a peanut butter quality, chocolate is not of the malted kind and not quite cacao like flavor. Is there just a ton of cacao creating nutty flavors or am i missing an ingredient in the description?
Overall a bit disappointing with a peanut butter like component in the flavor that detracts from the cacao.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head that dissipates to a thick cap with good lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet dark toasted malt, cocoa and light vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt, dry cocoa, hints of nuts and vanilla, a little subdued. Finishes with lightly astringent baker's chocolate and malt. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This seems like an understated porter with great flavors trying to get out. The flavors are nice, with a great malt profile and good cocoa and light vanilla and nuts, but less robust than I'd expect for the ABV. Enjoyable, but could use a little more flavor depth, especially in the finish.

It pours very dark, almost black, a bit thin. The head is dark tan, modest in size & coarse. Aroma is of candied fruit , where's the chocolate? Taste is not very sweet, slightly salty, dark chocolate, cherries, roasted grain & a chocolate finish. It's not very intense, could go up a notch or 2. Feel is thin but good carbonation. Great with pretzels & chocolate.

Tastes unnatural because it is. This beer is made with a negligible amount of cocoa nibs and 99% extract which gives it a powdery, weird, watery mouthfeel and flavor. Absolutely disgusting beer and not a fan of the dishonesty of the brewery regarding the extract.

My wife's favorite. A little sweeter than most porters so a good gateway beer for those new to craft beers. Pours with a nice head lots of coffee and other standard porter notes. Widely available in bottles tho the tap is better.

I didn't have sky-high expectations for this one but they were far exceeded. A bit thin and chalky on the mouthfeel but the overall flavor profile is fantastic

12 oz bottle.
The clear dark reddish brown body is nearly black and opaque in the glass. A thick beige head exhibits very good retention and leaves attractive lacing.
Aroma: lots of dark chocolate and dark bread in the nose.
Flavor: Rich and lightly sweet. Featuring cocoa nibs and dark chocolate with a solid dark bread base. Faint coffee appears in the aftertaste.
Feel: Creamy smooth, near full body with soft, medium carbonation. Approaches 5.

Overall: a fine chocolate porter.

Poured from the tap into a 20 OZ mug. The appearance is a dark brown with a large tan head. The aroma is chocolate and malt. The taste is a malt chocolate bomb. very good.

Poured pretty thin but has good lacing. Not super sweet as one would expect. The chocolate taste ranged from a delicious chocolate malt to a semi cooled down powdered hot chocolate.
