The chocolate note in this beer is not bold, dark, & rich, it's more of a sweet milk chocolate. I admit the flavor is coming off a little artificial. This is okay, but it's not really my thing. Cheers! C

The beer is a dark brown/near black color with some red highlights. There is a small tan head.
Big chocolate aroma, some roasted malt, and a hint of caramel.
Strong chocolate taste up front, followed by some coffee and caramel, finishing with bittersweet chocolate.
Smooth mouthfeel, very drinkable.
Highly recommended.

For me this began as a drinkable beer but as more of the taste was acquired over multiple bottles, it became too much to enjoy. The smell is of wet-socks and artificial chocolate syrup. I do not hate this one, but wouldn't buy another pack.

Pours dark black with a beige head.
Smells like cocoa powder and a hint of coffee.
Taste is very chocolatey, with some vanilla creamy sweetness that follows and it ends with a bit of coffee bitterness.
A nice creamy mouthfeel makes this feel nice and "shake" like.
Pretty solid dessert beer, will probably grab more soon!

12 oz can poured into a pub-style pint.

Appearance
Cola brown with ruby highlights. 2 fingers of creamy tan head. Good clarity and lively carbonation.

Nose
Milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, and roast.

Taste
Milk chocolate, powdered cocoa, and caramel. Earthy roastiness with traces of dark fruit.

Mouthfeel
Medium bodied, silky, and smooth.

Overall
Tasty and easy drinking. All chocolate, baby!

Had this on tap at Seymour in Greenfield, MA. Pure black appearance with a creamy, medium brown head. Aromas include very noticeable cream, chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. The taste was excellent; a perfect dessert beer, it felt like I was drinking a chocolate frappe with alcohol. Very decadent and creamy. Overall, a great beer to end a night with thanks to its dessert-like properties.

"Enjoy by October 2018 (date smudged)"; drank 8/8/18 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

A violent pour yielded a small tan head; frothy lace.

Chocolate syrup & vanilla extract notes in the nose.

Sticky medium mouthfeel.

Chocolate syrup & mild vanilla extract flavors up front; faint orange citrus notes on the finish.

Flavorful; pretty blunt & unnatural tasting though. Not one I'll seek out again.

This is the first chocolate porter I’ve ever had. Nice and smooth. Sweet chocolate taste with a nice bitter finish. Shake is a great name for this beer as it has a creamy shake like taste. This is a beer to enjoy on its own. I can’t really pair it with anything, food wise. Great beer!

Smoother and creamier than most nitros. Sweet up front and bitter in the back. Not robust, reminiscent of a milk stout.

Excellent chocolaty porter! Similar to Achocolypse and just as enjoyable. It's like drinking a milk chocolate shake--smooth and easy. Really great as a dessert or just for fun.
