Medium thin mouthfeel.

Soapy grapefruit flavor; drinkable but frankly not very good.

12oz can poured into 10oz goblet. Poured a lightly hazy medium gold color with 1/2 inch of white head that had OK retention and lacing.

The aroma was sticky-sweet at first, with some light grains and soft floral and citrus hops in the background.

Same on the tongue, but the standard house funk rears its head.

The body was medium, smooth, and had a semi-sweet finish.

Drinkability was a bit difficult because of that funky aspect. This beer reminded me way too much of Sweaty Betty, a beer I despise. Overall, cannot recommend.

Serving: On tap
Consumed: Aug-15-2018

Pours a crystal clear gold with a skiff of beige head that quickly evaporates, no lacing, meh retention. All told, this has a classic profile/character. Light citrus and bracing herbal bitterness in both aroma and flavor. A little malt, but mainly a simple hoppy bite. Drinkable but not complex, all right but not amazing. This is one of the first craft beers I ever had, late one night in the desert while camping on a caving trip almost 15 years ago. Time flies. It brings back some good memories and it's interesting to have it again and be nostalgic, but I'm glad to have some of the slap-you-in-the-face and caress-you-with-fruit IPAs available nowadays.

12 oz. can poured into a tulip glass.

L---Sightly hazy amber color with a thick head that had good retention and left nice lacing.

S---Not very much going on here. A little bit of citrus fruit and a touch of pine.

T---Better than the nose. Grapefruit and other juicy citrus fruits.

F---A bit sticky, nice. Heavier than the nose/taste would imply.

O---A solid IPA, nothing fancy, but just good.

120z bottle marked enjoy by June 27, 2018 from AC. Gold/copper color and faint caramel nose. Malty caramel taste with touches of orange and grapefruit on the finish. An OK beer.

This beer has a nice golden color, and nice aroma. The taste is just an average bitter beer taste similar to a lot of bitter beers. Nothing special.

Brief impressions from a bottle. I know I've reviewed this before; I just haven't gotten around to typing up my original notes yet.

Pours a clean bright copper body with a fluffy soft off-white cap.

Aroma is creamy and floral, with some pale malt and caramalt keeping the mild hop bitterness in line. A muted shallow aroma suggesting a reticent simplistic beer.

Taste is reticent and simple as can be, hitting a note of pale malt, a note of floral hops, and...well, that's pretty much it, save for a blip of a grapefruit flavour that emerges late in the game. No depth or intricacy of flavour whatsoever. Somewhat insipid, with no real hop pungency.

Overcarbonated and unbecomingly dry. Not the juicy refreshing light-bodied mouthfeel one would hope for.

Overall, it's more mediocre fare from Boulder Beer Co. Very forgettable, but not undrinkable. I continue to be underwhelmed by Boulder Beer's efforts.

look: Yellow, decent head
aroma: Fruity. Strong.
taste: Disappoints. Apples, Pears. High Alcohol is unmasked.
FEEL: Quite a bite.Fizzy. Alive.
Not bad, but a little harsh, even for a new age IPA.

From notes taken 07/06/16:

Mostly clear, peach-toned amber. Thick, uneven, two-finger, foamy, dull white head of good retention. Resin, light and dark fruit, alcohol aromas. Imperial IPA palate and at 7.2% ABV, no great surprise. Moderately sweet throughout, but more so perfumey. Crackery backbone. Finish is somewhere in the midst of perfume, flowers, resin, rind, soap, leather. Full-bodied or close, suds to velvet from start to finish, quite warm and astringent. I rarely do this, but 3.75 across the board. Decent for an IPA, mediocre for an IIPA.

Paid ~$10 for a six pack. Poured into a tulip glass, half an inch of pretty loose head with a moderately aggressive pour.

Quite a nice beer. The malt/hop balance is much to my preference, with a solid bready base and thick body to hold all that dank, resinous hop. The hop profile is a nice grapefruit-like bitterness balanced by a tangerine-like sweetness. Not super effervescent, and has quite a sticky finish and mouth feel. That bitterness really sticks around for awhile.

Would buy again.

Unfortunately as I pour this one I see that the enjoy by date is 8 days from today. I now know this beer is at the end of it's life. This is golden in color with plenty of carbonation but lacks greatly in hop juiceiness and malt backbone. Slightly watery and has a touch of an old, stale taste. Def does not taste like an IPA

I love this beer. Full flavored, hoppy, enough malt balance. Hey, I try different beers and am almost always underwhelmed. I like full bodied taste.

Am not a beer snob. But I do like to not be constantly underwhelmed which I am. Most beers I try including the exotic, expensive ones are usually unremarkable to me. This Mojo IPA is not too simple, it does not try to be anything more than what it is... but what it is is simply pleasurable, full bodied, consistent, and I can always count on this IPA to hit the mark. Amazing too how inexpensive it is. But that doesn't matter to me. I simply love this beer.

This tastes like what beer should taste like.

Appearance: Pours a solid copper color.

Overall: The aroma has a pleasant orange and pine nature. Mojo has a wonderful balance of hop bitterness, flavor, and aroma with just the right malt presence to hold it all together. This beer’s flavor is heavily centered on hops. A great version of a classic west coast IPA. Easy drinking IPA that I seriously recommend.

Poured from bottle. (Best by May...shame on your Total Wine and shame on me for not realizing)

(L) The color was relatively clear copper with slightly less than one-finger off-white head.
(A) Smell was pine, grapefruit, orange peal, and malty caramel.
(T) Taste was malty, citrusy. More bitter than I was expecting based off of aroma.
(F) Medium bodied.

Decent, but too bitter. Definitely not enough to balance it out.

TASTE: A little catty, grapefruit, bready.
FEEL: Medium thin to medium in body. Carbonation on lower side of average.
OVERALL: Forgettable.

For whatever reason (age prolly) this beer just keeps falling score wise over the years for me.

Always looks nice, orange appearance, 1/2" off white head. Occassionally this will pop with dry hopping, other times, it won't. I dunno, don't remember if they bottle date.

Taste has lots of crystal malt and substantial bitterness. Relatively thicker than average in terms of syrup and viscosity like feels. Evolves into ipas from yesteryear.

Pours a clear copper/orange color with a towering white head. Aroma is initially spicy and citric hops with a light caramel and cracker note. Taste is combination of spicy and bitter hop notes with orange pith and pine. Then you reach the semi sweet caramelly malt base which serves to balance the hops. This beer drinks easy with its light to medium body. It is good but not the freshest IPA out there.

Not a fan, but it's also too easy to run into old bottles of this. Spicy, bitter, piney, catty, ruggy graham and pungent grapefruit. It's too sharp and a little metallic.

An IPA that kind of leans on floral notes more than anything else. Very nice, but not terribly potent. A perfectly solid, yet somewhat unexceptional, IPA.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best by" date 10-21-15.

APPEARANCE: pours a clear, copper color with less than one-finger off-white head that dissipated slowly until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, medium carbonation, significant lacing on the glass.

SMELL: very pleasant to the nose, caramel, flowery with pine and grapefruit.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet caramel and bread then grapefruit and pine, the 7.2% ABV is very well hidden and gives this beer a nice warming effect.

PALATE: medium body, medium carobonation.

OVERALL: this is a great smelling and tasting beer, not unlike Summit Saga IPA, I really enjoy the citrus grapefruit note in hops and the finishing hops made a great smelling beer as well, I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the style and will definitely buy this again.

Boulder Brewing co. Mojo IPA.

A: a light amber with a thin head on top.

S: lots of sweetness, light roasted malt balances everything well, pineapple, orange peel, lily flowers, alcohol.

T: light malt, bitter piney lupulin balanced by a lot of malty sweetness, lemon peel.

M: hop bitterness hits the tongue first then gets balanced out, it @ lingers a long time with sugary malt on tongue. the lupulin is up in my sinuses but I dig it.

O: a dope IPA. One of the best I’ve had out of Colorado. Sweet, hoppy, yet well balanced. Don’t drink this if you don’t want a sugar bomb though. 4.55/5.

Deep golden color, big rich caramel maltiness with some earthy pine and resin to counter. Pretty good easy drinking slightly sweet IPA.
