Moms and poppy picked this up in NC on their last visit, and bro and sis flew it over a few weeks back. Thanks guys!

From a bottle into a snifter

APPEARANCE: Pours a 1+ finger, medium looking, fluffy, white head with really good retention. Tenne orange in color, clear, with zero carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a good wisp, leaving some lacing down the glass. Splotchy wisp and ring remain until the end and leave some nice lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Medium strength nose. Pale malts with some floral hops and notes of melon in there. Quite floral with notes of orange peel too.

TASTE: Pale malts and lots of floral hops on the palate. Some caramel, butterscotch and slight citrus notes as well, but mostly floral and butterscotch flavors. Much like an English IPA as opposed to American. Mild and lingering aftertaste is floral, hoppy, and slightly bitter as well.

PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Semi creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes somewhat mouth-coating on the palate. Fine here.

OVERALL: A quality offering from Boulder. Looked good for sure, and the nose and taste were enjoyable as well. Reminded me more of an English IPA, but that's insignificant; a good beer is a good beer. This is definitely a enjoyable brew, so give it a go if you happen to see it. Cheers guys for making this happen.

22oz bomber to mug

A - Beautiful, rich, golden color that is somewhat cloudy. Nice, rich white head, three fingers deep, with spiderweb lacing as it was sipped. Overall, a very inviting appearance.

S - Malts are sweet and caramelly on this one with a rich citrusy hop profile that smells like a ripe orange.

T - Big, citrusy, orange flavors grab your tongue with a nice dry, hop finish. This one is sweet but was well balanced in my opinion. The hops are there but they are not bitter. Definitely something to session on.

M - Medium body and smooth, smooth, smooth! This brew was nicely carbonated for the style.

D - A very nice brew, very drinkable, and would be great in the summer after a long, hot day. Very enjoyable.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a nonic.

This brew pours a transparent golden colour with two fingers of head that retains poorly but laces well. Citrus hops, with some nice herbal aspects on the nose, and just a touch of bready malts. Pine and citrus come through immedietly on the nose, then a bit of the bready malts come through as the pine takes a backseat. Some strong grapefruit rings through at the end as it pairs with the herbal hops for a very nice aftertaste.

The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, highly carbonated, and fairly drying, and the drinkability is quite good. Another solid IPA that does offer just a little bit to differ from the pack with the herbal aspects on the hops. This is always available locally at a great price, as well. Recommended.

Sampled from a 12oz bottle with a "fresh until" March 2011 stamped on the bottle. Poured a bright, pale yellow with excellent clarity. Started with a respectable thick, foamy, white head that slowly reduced leaving a nice white cap throughout. Floral hop aromas dominate, however there is a strong citrus hop presence as well as a faint pine hop aroma in the background. A bit on the watery side with light carbonation. I had this on nitro-tap not long ago and which enhanced the feel of this IPA. Well balanced floral and citrus hop flavors in the beginning, pine hop flavors find there way into the middle along with a light pilsner-like malt flavor. Finishes with a citrus and pine hop character, but not too bitter. Other than the thinner feel, this was an enjoyable, moderately complex IPA.

Cool, somewhat hazy golden color, with a bone-white head, attractive, big at first, though ultimately short-lived.

Aroma: oh, that's the stuff, like a deep breath in the heart of a primal forest, a crazy mess of spikey, sprucey, herbal hoppitude.

Feels like it's dry-hopped. Piney, citrusy (strong grapefruit). Continues on the tastebuds, bitter, yet a bit sweetish and slightly fruity. A tyrical hoppy IPA that is well done.

A bit light in body, a tad lacking in the malt's all over, under and thoroughly about the hops (wish I could tell which ones).

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Clear medium amber color with a tan foamy head that gave way to some nice lacing.

Smell: Lots of citrus (grapefruit and lemon) hops aroma with a little malt underneath.

Taste: All about the hops! Clean and fresh citrus hops up front with a lingering bitterness on the a good IPA should be.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with good carbonation. Feels crisp and clean on the tongue.

Drinkability: A fine example of an American IPA. Good to session with and easy to drink. Would be especially good served ice cold on a hot summer day. It's a thirst quencher.

Pours a nice pale color.

Smells like a classic IPA -- hoppy and complex, but this one also features a citrus scent. Very interesting.

Taste is fairly hoppy, hints of a peeled orange. Nice balance of hops/malt.

As much as I liked the smell and initial taste, I couldn't really get into it. After one I was done.

The Mojo in my opinion does not stand out as its own. It seems like a great beer to start people out on if they have never had an IPA or APA. light in hops and average in color it wouldn't be intimidating to people just getting started in "beer love." I do love the Boulder Brewing Company though.

A- yellow orange see through with a thin head which fades fast little to no lacing.

S- smell of bitternes, citrus hops dominate with a slight breadiness and I am also picking up a slight alchohol bite in the nose.

T-Very slight citrus hoppiness. picking up alot of alcohol in this especially in the aftertaste.(for 7.2 this is very warming)

M- mouthfeel is light to medium does not linger much.

D- Drinkability is fine this was pretty much a middle of the road IPA nothing really blew me away but then again nothing really threw me off either.

I bought a six pack for the wife thinking it might be a suitable replacement for 60minute, i'm kinda wishing they had the 60minute.

12oz. bottle poured into a Perfect Pint glass.

The pour produced practically no head and what little there was dissipated within a minute. I got immediate aromas of citrus hoppiness, which made up for the lackluster appearance. Very bright pineapple scents with a hint of butter. The color is a lighter amber and apple juice looking.

The taste is complex and I tried hard to place everything. I got grass, straw and pineapple in the bitterness, with the malts giving it a creamy feeling on the finish. The mouthfeel was lighter than I expected from a 7.2% ABV beer.

Complex flavors continued to stick to the roof of my mouth with lots of hoppy bitterness lingering on the back of my tongue. This is a high quality, complex flavored American-style IPA that packs a punch.

12oz bottle poured into a standard pint glass. Pours a burnt orange w/ a white head and decent lacing. Nice citrus hops, picking up some grapefruit, orange, and tangerines. The taste is sharp, but subtle. There's some pine mixed in as well; finishes dry. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side, but still smooth. Easy drinking.

Straight forward IPA, nice representation. Might not wow you, but is pretty enjoyable.

12oz bottle (best by 2/23/11) poured into a Duvel Tulip

A: Pours golden yellow, hazy, coaxed a 1-finger white frothy head that slowly dissipated.

S: Citrus and pine hops (tangerine, lemon), caramel malt background, a little floral and grainy.

T: Fairly light and mellow for an IPA (granted I'm sure the hops have faded quite a bit). Pine and citrus hops up front (a little bitterness), caramel malt is fairly reserved in the background, providing just enough sweetness to balance the bitter hops. Overall malt character is very light and floral/grainy. Finish is clean, a little bitter.

M: Light to medium carbonation, light body, fairly sticky and decent bitterness. Finish is a little bitter and clean. It's fairly pleasant, just a little too thin.

D: Since this doesn't seem as over the top as a lot of IPAs I've had recently (hops fading could be part of that), it's very easy to gulp down. Light body and carbonation also help.

Hazy, bright orange/gold. Thin head that leaves a a solid ring of big bubbles

A lot of citrus hops. Some pine resin and a little mango. A small amount of sweet caramel and honey.

Very bitter with an overload of piercing citrus to piney. Very dry and unbalanced towards the back. The hops seem way out of whack and overbearing. I can barely get through the hops to pull anything else out of this beer.

Relatively light body but hard to get past the bitterness. Struggled through my bomber.

Pours golden, very slight haze, minimal white head dissipates rapidly. No lacing.

Pungent floral and fuity hop nose. Something sour spircy, similar to Anchor Our Special Ale (and also in Boulder Flashback). Bit of alc warmth and malty sweetness pokes in there.

Floral, fruity, grainy, and malty sweet with very toned down bitterness (older bottle maybe?). Smooth and balanced.

Smooth, moderately rich with medium body, with crisp and clean finish. Would not be surprised if there were some adjunct in there boosting the abv, as the body feels thin for 7.2%.

Tasty, balanced, and complex. Relatively light, easy drinker for its relative girth. My mom was more into this than the Founder's Red Rye we had before this, finding this one more flavorful without the harsh-ish, lingering C hops on the tongue after it's gone. I've had Boulder beers before and had never been really impressed, but I'm happy with this one and the Flashback. Wouldn't go out of my way to get them, but would be stoked if it were the token craft or IPA at a particular venue.

Pale gold win no head. Smells of tons of citrus and pine, with a hint of kitchen cleaner and hardwood resin. Very resinous taste win a lingering bitterness and faint light caramel. Nice grainy malt flavor, which is obliterated by resin flavor. Amarillo comes close to saving this beer, and there are beautiful cedar, tangerine, and cinnamon flavors. Unfortunately, this beer was brewed without any concept of balance, and it is a resinous disaster. Body is light, carbonation is light. Tastes like a blonde ale with evergreen sap. I'm sure the hopheads will get their chemical fix here.

Boulder Tasting At UPick6 in Erie PA. Poured a clear light copper color with a white head, into a plastic cup. The beer did not have much of a smell at all, light and lemony. The taste was very balanced with a little fruitiness and malts coming through. No pine flavor in this one. Very decent beer but does not compare well to other IPA's in my opinion. I could drink a lot of these in the Summer. Wow....7.2% ! ? I didn't notice any alcohol.

A - A clear golden color. Slight head, and minimal lace.

S - The amarillo hops dominate. Very pleasant. You can smell it as an IPA right away.

T - A mild bitterness at first. Citrusy hops dominate. So smooth. Not as bitter as other IPAs.

M - Medium carbonation. Very smooth.

D - Excellent. It is so smooth and the alcohol is nicely hidden. I am craving another one! A very nice IPA.

It's an almost clear orange color, nice head and great lacing. Head dissipates slowly into a sheen. Good looking beer.

I actually smell the malts first, then the hops and grapefruit pine with some oranges.

Tastes very nice. hops and malts blend together, accented by citrus and pne, medium sweet, yet slightly dry on the finish.

A great medium body, moderate bitterness and pleasant mouthfeel make for a fine beer in all respects.

Drinks very well. Don't know what the value is as this one was from a trade, but taste wise it's a value no matter what the cost.

Typical of the style, yet nicely balanced, perhaps even a tad towards the malt side for an IPA. A likable beer tho.

This ale pours brilliantly clear light golden color with a moderate, clingy white head. The aroma is highly hoppy -- primarily citrus lemon. The flavor is also highly hoppy -- citrus hops, lemon and a bit of grapefruit with just a hint of sweetness from the malt in the background. The hop bitterness is high, yet smooth, the hop flavor and bitterness linger on the tongue, drying the finish a bit. The carbonation is moderate and body medium-full. Overall this a very hop forward beer that is well planned and well crafted. If you loves hops, you'll love this beer.

The color is more on the pale side, honey as opposed to amber. The head was quick to form and had good retention and wall of lace. The clarity was "Hazed" as Boulder would probably like to call it.

The nose certainly didn't offer an IPA dose of hops. It stayed safely on the malt side of things with tons of caramel accented by sweet citrus and rip fruit tones. Not particularly what I had in mind.

The flavor had a bit more bitter to it than the aroma, but didn't really rev my engine. The taste was juicy and sweet, with most of the hop bitterness coming in the finish. Caramel, biscuits, some pine and grapefruit flavors mingle for supremacy.

The body was smooth and easy to drink with a dry finish. The carbonation was mild, but stayed crisp through the finish.

Not a bold IPA unfortunately. The alcohol was hidden quite well though, so I'll give it a 3.5 in the last field. I'm trying the Mojo Risin' following this one, so hopefully that was can satisfy the craving for this hop head.

Nice one finger head of thick, rich white foam. Spattered lace with lots of cling. Color is a 8 on the SRM beer color chart. Sharp aroma of citrus/pine, lemon peel and hops. Hints of wheat and barley malt. Sharp flavors of citrus/hops, with a underflow of black pepper, and malt. Thin in the mouth, some zing from the carbonation, but watery over the tongue and back of my soft palate. Bright refreshing flavor will bring my back for another on a warm day.

Drinkability: Nice sharp and crisp hop flavor. Great anytime beer.
