One of the least appetizing beer names since Moose Drool. I wonder if Sweaty Betty is friends with Messie Bessie or Juicy Lucy? Does she know Large Marge, maybe?
Pours a pale, hazy yellow, with vanishing white foam above.
Aroma is citrus and spice, coriander, ginger....so far, I'm fairly certain that this is mis-entered as a hefe weizen, and instead should be seen as a witbier, perhaps.
Taste: gritty grain on the palate, then smooth and refreshing. Full of spice on the palate, but softens assuredly, and there are light orange and lemon flavors at play as well, with a bit of banana?
Drinks down easily. Medium bodied, dry finish, fades fast. Perhaps that is just as well, for their aim is refreshment, with a twist.
After downing the bottle, I'm sure it's more toward a witbier and nowhere near a hefe. The label calls it "a perfectly balanced blonde wheat beer with a wild side." Well, wilder than Blue Moon, anyway.
And more characterful than the last can of Wittekerke I had.
I'm starting to get warm on the name, now, too...sweaty or not, Betty's my kind of girl.

Appearance: clear yellow in color with a 1/2" head that falls quickly. No lacing develops.
Smell: lemons and a bit of grassiness are detectable.
Taste: huge lemon zest tones seem to dominate the flavor. This beer is slightly tart, with grass, yeast, and some wheat flavors rounding it out. Very mellow bitterness too.
Mouthfeel: crisp all around. The lemon lingers on the tongue. Light-medium bodied beer.
Drinkability: if you are looking for a thirst quencher, this may fit the bill. But the strong lemon and tartness gets a bit boring after a while.

Vibrant bright yellow pour, half inch of head, white, average retention. A little bit of lemon and wheat aroma, super minimized.
Wheat comes out more in the taste, but is still run of the middle pedestrian. Hopping is a tad above standard. Even some grainy banana. Can even pick up a neat twinge of tart lemon wheatness and metallic droppings.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked Oct 07 2010 and sampled on August 17, 2010. The pour is pale yellow and very cloudy with a thinner but slightly foamy white head that never quite fades. Banana, wheat, and yeast aromas are the first to greet the nose. The taste is about the same with a comforting fresh hop ending. Really not all that bad and fairly easy to drink.

A nice dark gold color greeted my beer but not much cloudiness. Decent head that died quickly but left a lace ring around the mug. Weak smell did not give me anticipation for this beer. Very faint clove notes and smelled more like a lime than lemon or orange peel or anything. The taste improved on the smell, thankfully, somewhat. A little weak but a smooth medium-bodied beer that had a little sweetness from the wheat mixed with a decent punch of citric notes, most noticeable was the orange. A little sharp in the backbite but not bad. A light summer beer that isn't bad, but not a standout or anything.

The beer pours a hazy pale yellow color witha thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a fruity wheat scent that boasts of banana and clove along with a yeasty aroma; very refreshing. The taste is decent. It has a light wheat flavor that goes down easy. It's smooth with the traditional banana and clove appeal. The mouthfeel is good. It is a low bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good drinking summer seasonal. It has a nice fruity flavor. I wish it had more of a wheat malt presence, but it drinks well anyway.

Summer time calls for lighter beers. Here's hoping Sweaty Betty can deliver. On to the beer:
A little paler thank banana peel yellow with a cloudy body, a thick semi-creamy head, and impressive head retention. The aroma is solid, bringing a watered down banana note, a vague spiciness, and light notes of grass.
Pleasant overall light flavor with enough soft flavors to give you drinking more and more. It's sweet in a creamy kind of way, tasting more like a cream-based dessert than a clean American wheat or full flavored German hefeweizen. Creamy banana is more present here than it was in the aroma, and makes the strongest point of the beer's taste. Subtle clove hits too. The beer has a light mouthfeel with soft carbonation, leading to easy drinkability.
Fair summer refresher out of Boulder, and a better choice than what you'll find at many summer parties.

A: Poured from a bottle to a weizen glass. Had a pale yellow color and a cloudy consistency. Very small amount of head that dissipated quickly.
S: Extremely sweet smelling beer, with elements of citrus, wheat and spices in it. There was also a slight funk about it as well.
T: Like the smell, a little on the sweet side. Lemon, wheat, banana and some assorted spices. Okay, but not great.
M: A fair amount of carbonation and a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
D: All in all, this is an alright beer, but not something I'd come back to. The sweet quality of the taste is a little to cloying, but there is a decent amount of complexity to it.

A: Bright, clear straw/gold color. Poured a 2 finger rocky white head with good retention; was an aggressibe poir. Thin, sticky lacing. Decanted continually.
S: Wheat malt, light floral hops and citrus ; very clean (almost too clean)
T: Light fruity taste up front, the bready wheat, ciitrus and light clove. Not too complex.
M: Light body. Ample carbonation. Crisp and fizzy.
D: Easily drinkable. Decent flavors, certainly nothing offensive - just nothing special either.
