Notes:
A Honey of a Saison is a swarm of flavor and a stinger at 11.5% ABV. The French Saison yeast produces big, estery, phenolic aromas and flavors, while the Wildflower Honey lends a spicy, sweet aroma with essence of dried fruits. Champagne Yeast is also used to complete fermentation and create a dry finish. A strong malt bill imparts a rich, golden honey color to the ale, and it shows low hop bitterness at 25 IBU’s.

22 oz brown bottle -
A Honey of a Saison's body is a dark golden hue and formed a1-finger off-white head. The head reduced to a foamy collar with very minimal lacing on the walls of my tulip glass. The nose is sweet and a little spicy upfront. Light fruit; pear; peach and white grapes are also noted in the background. The taste matches the nose with the flavors of sweet honey first noted followed by all the light fruit mentioned in the nose. The finish is dry, sweet, and a little spicy. Mouth feel is high-medium with medium carbonation.
Overall, a sweeter ale for its style that is very drinkable for its high ABV - I like it.

22oz bottle for $7.59.
It pours a clear amber with a 1 finger head of foam that leaves some nice lacing behind.
I get smells of wheat, candi sugar and I guess, honey sweetness, booze, some earthiness.
The smell was okay but the first sip in and whoa, the sweet notes are borderline overpowering. A syrupy kind of sweet that doesn't let much else through, except the booziness, and maybe that's a good thing. I get some spice but it doesn't compliment the beer much. The label says it uses Champagne yeast so there is some dryness in the finish but colour me confused. I was expecting a Saison of some sort and this does not fit the bill for me.
Good body but the carbonation is lighter than what I hoped for. Considering.
In no way is this an easy drinking beer for me, I'm now debating whether to finish the bottle or pour it down the drain. Cut the sweet in about..half, and it might not be half bad.

22 ounce bomber
Pours a hazy copper orange color, the color of peach skin only a bit darker. There's a head early on, but it isn't impressive and doesn't stick around long.
The smell is complex with some tangy, peppery yeast, a hint of citrusy pineapple, a bit of honey and alcohol.
Grape and pepper start the taste. Pineapple makes an appearance midsip. Citrusy hop presence starts the finish while the alcohol ends it.
Full bodied. Sweet and spicy. Tangy throughout. Each sip brings more bite from the alcohol heat. Acid in the finish. Alcohol isn't over the top, but it's right at the line...after a few sips, my mouth is going numb.
A sipper. ABV is strong, a real manly beer for a saison. Nice taste and I actually like the ABV. I never picked up the honey because it's so subtle.

A: Poured from a bottle to a tulip glass. Had a yellow-orange color and a clear texture. There was an inch of foamy head that lasted an average amount of time. Decent lacing.
S: A very underwhelming aroma of honey, yeast, and some fruit. The smell just wasn't very noticeable.
T: Tasted of light honey, malt, some Belgian yeast, fruity esters, and a phenolic quality. A pretty thin flavor all around. It just isn't pushed far enough and the result is a somewhat bland flavor.
M: A well-carbonated beer with a somewhat harsh finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Not the worst BSPA I've tried, but definitely not the best. Not a great beer by any standards.

Pours a clear copper with insta-fade thin white head, spotty lacing. 11.5%. None of this is right, what's going on here... Smell: oh, it's not a saison at all, it's a shitty BSPA! The nice folks at Boulder Beer just thought it would be cool to disrespect their customers by lying about the style in no less that 3 places on the label! Assholes! Anyway... booze, white grape juice, sugary with a little honey funk. Taste: just tons of sugary pale malts, light spicy hopping, white grape juice, floral notes. Not the dry finish promised, massively underattenuated even though it made it to almost 12%, holy crap! Sticky, juicy, with some grit that is the closest this comes to drying. This could be a average BSPA, but it's a flippin' terrible saison, and now I'm turned off of buying anything from Boulder Beer. You've joined Left Hand on the bad $8 bomber shitlist.

Pours a hazed bronze color and light white foam and lace. Aroma of malty sugar, Belgian yeast, honey sweetness. In the taste, mild herbal bitterness, sweet malt notes, honey, as advertised, and booze. There are hints of herb, mint, and pepper. Mostly sweet, some alcohol is noticed, but tastes pretty good. Medium bodied, well carbonated, loose, smooth feel with a low level of heat. Overall, this was a big sweet saison, as you would expect from such a name.
