Spicy nose with some fruit light fruit. On tap pours slightly hazed gold with a ½” white foam cap that produces medium lace. Rye spiciness on the palate with light fruit, hop spice and a crisp bitter finish. Above average carbonation, medium to medium full body, slight slicknesss.

16 ounce pint - $6.75 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Dispensed a reasonably effervescent, lightly hazed, golden-copper body.

Smell: Lightly bready pale malted barley and the namesake rye underneath the herbal, spicy notes, the orange and grapefruit, and the low, light grassiness.

Taste: Pale malts aided by rye. Scantly bready. A thin drizzle of treacle. Oily, citrusy, grassy, spicy accents begin to balloon into the taste, though they're tempered, subdued. Medium-plus bitterness and drying all along the way to the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Lightly oily, smooth mouthfeel.

Overall: I felt fRYEd was RYEce enough.

Had a pint of the 2015 release at Halsey's in Queens. Tasty beer, but the Colorado hops aren't leaping out of the glass like I'd expect from a fresh hopped beer. This plenty of tasty, spicy orange peel bouncing around. The rye and malt character is pretty fun though. I'd love this beer as a 4.2% session beer.

Thickly creamy cask head. Color is a hazed burnt orange.

Flavor profile is big juicy hops with a lot of citrus. Grapefruit and orange. Floral hops. The rye spice is nice and makes its pressence over the hops which is nice. Reminds me of a India rye ale or something.

Mouthfeel: smooth and creamy with little bitterness. Medium bodied. Ends with a touch of stickiness, but overall clean.

Overall, a really enjoyable beer. Easy to drink and a lot of great flavors. I'm a sucker for rye and fresh hopped made this one great.

Pours deep, clear copper with a thick white head on it. Smells of tropical fruit--mango, papaya. Subtle aromas. Tastes spicy and sweet up front, followed by a touch of citrus and mango flavors. Light sweetness and bitterness lingering at the finish. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied. Easy drinking and hop forward. I like the subdued rye spice. Definitely a restrained rye IPA and not a massive hop bomb. Very drinkable, so bonus points for that. I'd like more hop aroma, but it's a solid, drinkable beer.

This one is a brightish dark gold in color with some haziness. The off-white head, just under a finger tall, is pretty smooth. Lacing is pretty good, showing some legging toward the top of the glass and following with sporadic patching.
The nose isn't light, per se, but could use a little more strength. It does showcase the rye, both in a raw, grainy sort of earthiness as well as spiciness, while some floral hops come through with just a whiff of tropical fruits lurking there. Malt and hops balance is furthered by an interplay of caramel and pine, both lighter notes underneath. All I would say is that, while good, I would expect a bit more hop profile out of a dry-hopped beer particularly in the aroma than I get here.
The flavor shows a little more, though it doesn't deviate much. Focus is still on keeping balance while showcasing the rye, and I think Boulder gets it done. It's got a little more citrus and tropical fruits bitterness, enhanced by pine and balanced by caramel. It plays nicely with the earthy and spicy notes, which aren't so strong as to push everything under but still show. It's clocked at 40 IBU, so it's not as though it's intended to be a DIPA. This beer is an example of how dry-hopping can enhance a beer in a way that shouldn't and doesn't blow the drinker's face off.
This beer is nice and smooth, pretty creamy really, with a soft crispness giving just a gentle prickle on the tongue. It's medium-bodied but on the softer side, which works well for this beer. I would say it could be cleaner on the end.

Pours copper color with a chill haze. No aroma whatsoever.
In the taste, a bit of rye, a bit sweet, but quite forgettable. Has a lemony, slightly earthy flavor kind of reminding me of green tea with lemon. Fairly malty, but bland and nondescript. Very mild bitterness.

Light, medium bodied feel, slightly thin. Carbonation is fine. Overall, this is a below average offering. Not recommended.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Pretty standard stuff. Light head that leaves a minimal lacing. More malt than hops in the aroma but it balances in the taste. Rye element is just a hint, as it should be. Nothing to write home about.
