Not as good as cynic. I'd rather have hops than dandelion.

Dandelion saison. Clean, spicy, citrusy, nice Belgian yeast, bananas, cloves, and bubblegum. Floral and earthy.

Easy drinking! Would have more of this.

On tap at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul, MN. 16 oz. pour served in a shaker glass.

Appearance: Color is a bright golden orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and about one finger of white head that settles into a thin patchy layer. Leaves some good lacing.

Smell: A fruity, spicy, and yeasty Belgian style aroma with big hints of bubblegum, banana, and Belgian spice. Upfront Belgian yeast with hints of farmhouse funk, clove, and white peppers. Big scent of bubblegum. Good mix of fruit esters with hints of banana, pear, and apple along with citrus hints of orange, lemon zest, and melon. Pale malt with hints of wheat, grains, straw, and cracker. Earthy and floral scent from the dandelions. A very solid aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a nicely fruity, yeasty, and spicy Belgian Saison taste with notes of bubblegum, banana, and spices. Belgian yeast with spicy notes of clove, farmhouse funk, and white peppers. Upfront taste of bubblegum. Solid fruit presence with notes of banana, apple, pear, lemon zest, orange, and some melon. Soft malt presence with notes of straw, grains, wheat, and cracker. The dandelion that takes the place of the hops give a nice subtle earthy and floral kick. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, creamy, spicy, and pretty smooth with a drying finish.

Overall: A very solid take on a Farmhouse Ale. Nice bubblegum and fruit flavor with an interesting twist from the dandelion.

described to me as a gruit, or ancient hopless ale, this one featuring dandelion, which makes sense because of its bittering capacity. this is a cool beer, whether what i heard about it is correct or not. its pale and hazy, muted looking, unassuming i should say, under a half inch of white head. the nose is quite herbal, green tea meets lemongrass, a cool complexion, more spring than fall, but not out of place either this time of year. steady what base is appropriate, and the yeast is flavorful, if not quite as sharp as the saison stains i am used to. its well carbonated even though it doesnt hold much head, it prickles on the tongue and finishes with an almost floral honey thing, and plenty of bitterness on the tongue. feels almost medicinal to me, food for my guts or something, i really dig it.
