On tap at Surly’s Beer Hall. Served in a 16 oz. chalice.

Appearance: Color is a deep amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head which slowly settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A very juicy and funky Belgian IPA style aroma with a big scent of fruit, spices, and bubblegum. Belgian yeast with hints of farmhouse funk, clove, pepper, and Brett. Big scent of bubblegum. Citrus hop hints of orange peel, grapefruit, mango, and lemon. Also some fruit hints of banana and apple. Malt hints of straw, cracker, and biscuit along with some honey and candied sugar sweetness. A very good aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy, funky, and sweet Belgian IPA style taste with notes of spices, fruit, and bubblegum. Belgian yeast with notes of clove, pepper, farmhouse funk, and Brett. Citrus hop notes of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, and mango. Belgian style fruit notes of banana, apple, and pear. Lots of bubblegum flavor throughout. Malt notes of cracker, straw, and biscuit. Sweet taste of honey and candied sugar. A very good balanced Belgian IPA taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Juicy, spicy, and fairly slick and chewy.

Overall: A very good take on a Belgian style IPA. Good combination of citrus fruit flavor with the Belgian style spices and Brett.

750ml brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

A great looking beer, from the lacing to the stunning copper hue. Brett funk with a semi-forward hopping meets a slightly hefty malt backbone in the nose. Deep smoothness with sufficient crispness. Wild herb medicinal funk from the brett, pretty much hopped like an IPA. Suggestions of green tea, star fruit, peppercorn, & melon rind. A little pungent in the middle, drys up real nice in the finish with funk, fruit, grass, & spice in the finish. Way too damn tasty, each sip opens another door ... pulls back another layer.

This is as advertised. Clear and orange with lots of effervescence. Lots of Belgiany bubblegum esters with a punch of phenolic spice. Dry and fairly crisp with hidden alcohol. Nice beer

Hazy dark peach color with off-white head. Aroma has intense Brett character with farmhouse and floral notes. Taste follows with yeast notes, quite bitter up front with earthy hop notes. Light body but feels soft and is well carbonated. Quite rough on the bitterness but the yeast notes are really nice.

Wonderfully balanced brett IPA. The funky, earthy barn character blends seamlessly with juicy, citrus hops. It's full-flavored, with a dry, slightly tangy finish; a little rich, but not too thick.

Thanks to barrelAgedG for opening. Nice color, lots going on here, bitterness, fruit, some funk. Overall it was good but for me all the flavors struggled a bit to work together.

Pale, clear amber color with over a finger of dense head that had good retention before settling to a thin skim of suds. Moderate amount of sticky lacing is left down the glass. Complex aroma of brett funk with barnyard type of aromas. Also the hops add tropical fruit and floral qualities that gives this a really appealing aroma. Unfortunately the flavor goes off the tracks. Too funky and too bitter but I guess that is what to expect with IPA on the label. Just harsh on the palate. I really like the hop flavors that come through and that is what saves this beer for me. Tropical fruit and floral tones that is mostly overshadowed by the brett funk. Combine that with the high bitterness, is not a combination that this drinker is enjoying. Medium body and nicely carbonated.
