16oz can from bobbypaulson (thanks man!). Canned 1/9/14. Served in a Founders snifter.

Pours a clear, deep orange with three fingers of pale fluffy head.aintains a nice cap, leaving lots of lace.

Smells of grapefruit, citrus rind, mild lemons and a faint malt sweetness.

Taste follows the nose. Grapefruit, orange peel, grass, hints of pine, cracker, pepper and a trace of sweet caramel malts. Any alcohol is only barely perceptible.

Slightly resinous medium body. Mod carb. Bitter peel & cracker finish.

A quite good brew overall. Easy to drink with the hop goodness you would expect from a well-made IPA.

Furious is a nice, slightly hazed medium-dark orange that leans bronze in the depths of the body. It keeps up some strong bubbling activity for the session. This serves to keep up the eggshell-colored head that's created upon settling. The head is firm and dense, thick and rocky and heavily pock-marked as it very slowly settles. Patching is in very good quantity and is downright chunky in parts.
There's lots going on in the nose, and it's more aromatic than most IPAs out there. This one shows up straight from the crack of the tab. The hops bill brings out lots of complexity, and it's a mouth-watering mix of perfume, pine, and grapefruit, not to mention plenty more citrus, massively juicy. Caramel malts are such that, while allowing the hops to rule, they balance beautifully. There's a whiff of alcoholic heat that doesn't get overly ethanolic and it finishes with a bite of black pepper.
Very similar to the aroma, the flavor showcases lots of depth, complexity, juiciness and balance. Malts come up front to add balance straightaway even as hops come out at the same time, both in communion but hops claiming dominion and malts glad to have it. All the orange and grapefruit peel and juice, pine resin, perfume and pepper as well as some flora and pineapple just make for a delicious beer.
It's also extremely clean in the medium body, fluffy carbonation lending to velvety smoothness with lots of crispness keeping the feel bright and fresh. This beer is just a delight to drink all around.
