A: Amber hued clear brew topped by a creamy tan head. Excellent lacing and head retention.
S: Extremely aromatic w/ floral, toffee, pine & citrus notes.
T: Caramel & toffee malt flavors balance out a very hoppy body.
M: Smooth well-balanced brew.
O: Maltier than most IPA's but damn good.

The beer comes in a clear deep ruby red color. It’s pretty deeply

The aroma is quite nice. You get tons of fresh smelling hops. It’s 6 weeks old at 5/21/13 on the bottom of the can. There’s tons of sweet pineapple, mango, tropical fruit, some citrus. A bit of bready malt. Then there’s tons of pine and floral as it warms up. It’s a bit sweet, but just hugely “hoppy.”

The flavor follows with a bit of that citrus peel and tropical, but a good amount of that sweet malt, but not sticky or sweet. Then the bitterness is a highlight with a very dry West Coast. It’s citrus, grapefruit, and Simcoe pine. This really is a hoppy beer without being too offensively bitter.

The mouthfeel is medium to light being a West Coast style beer. The malt isn’t big nor too sweet, but it sits there to hide that this is almost 100 IBU at 6.2%, you surely don’t get that. I’d imagine it could be more offensive with the bitterness like Overrated.

The beer is extremely drinkable and really a great example of a West Coast style. I wish I could have this more because I could drink this all the time. Having had Overrated a few days before, this is more of a complete beer. The aroma and balanced (despite being an "unbalanced" beer) malt profile slightly beats the wonderful bitterness of Overrated. Not a fruit or pine bomb, just a simple light body and hoppy brew.
