The hop party is in full swing and fully apparent in the first swig of this red.

The bubbles are crisp at first with a bit of a tinge on the tongue but become very microscopic as this brew mellows in the ambient temperatures of the cave sweeten the sugars.

The rich copper malts with tart berry and dark chocolate notes bolster the bright earthy hops leaving a loooong cascading finish that can be a bit challenging to deal with.

A very medium bodied and powerful brew. A bit of a medicinal note early on. Weird. Maybe the yeast...

Can into tulip. Thank you lurpy1

Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with a one inch white head. Smell has lots of citrus notes and some pine. Taste is citrusy with some resin. Slight bitterness. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall a great IPA.

Poured from a 16oz. can that says "canned on 9/10/13" into a Russian River pint glass.

A- Dark copper/ burnt orange color. A tad murky, not crystal clear at all. A 1/2 " beige head that quickly fades to a surface coating lace. Sides of glass show consistent lacing all the way down as I consume this brew.

S- Wow, as I pop the can the aroma immediately wafts up into my nose, with pine, tropical fruits, and freshly mown meadow hay all entering the equation. Upon further inspection a definite malt presence appears. The crushed grain, ready to bake a loaf of bread smell.
The Scottish malts I assume.

T- The sap-covered pine cone bitterness hits first, followed by the mango, pineapple and grapefruit rind citrus combo following soon after. A plethora of flavors in such a low ABV IPA.
Wonderful balance, just when I thought the bitterness was taking control, the fruity side of the hop combo comes through. Not to be completely forgotten, the malt backbone stands up and has his say. And on and on they fight.

M- The 99 IBU's (the can claims) definitely hits the tongue with force, drying the beer out so that I want another drink right away. Not too heavy, just right for several of these to disappear. Carbonation is spot on, not too heavy or stinging, allowing me to savor all this brew has to offer.

O- I was impressed with this beer, especially considering that it is coming up on three months old. Would love to have this on tap at the brewery. Fantastic use of a variety of hops. A west coast style IPA with a twist all it's own. Great balance, a lot going on, all of it good to me. Could drink this on a regular basis.
