Thanks, Sam!

Got this with another 10 from Sam. Was psyched to get some non-IPAs in the bunch and decided to start with this (after about a three-hour break from beer earlier). Hadn’t had a lot of good blondes, so somewhere in the 3.75 range would be great for this style for me. Description read, “Dearly beloved, an old Minneapolis bus station. Poured a golden clear color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of fast moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class foamy layered lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled lemon cookies, honey, biscuit, cracker and grass. Not much else, but didn’t need to be. Much of the same from the can, but still really good. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste followed the nose. Got lemon cookies, honey, biscuit, white cracker, grass, sweet corn cereal, green apple and pear. (Taste - 4.00)

Light body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.50)

Damn. Can’t believe how much I liked this one. So clean and refreshing. (Overall - 4.25)

As I work through the 4-pack, the less I like it. Something is off especially in the aftertaste. Surprised to find out it is an English yeast used. Seemed almost Belgian or home brewer turns professional effort.

Poured cold from 16-ounce tallboy into a stemless wine glass, sample was two months past the canning date which was clearly marked on the can. Appearance-wise, this is a very attractive pour. Hazy, light amber in color, with a soapy snow-white head that left quite a bit of clingy lacing as it settled to a thin cap. Aromas and flavors of light malts. citrus, grassy herbs, and a little tart apple. Allowing this to linger on the tongue for a few seconds opens up some pleasantly intense bitterness that hangs around on the finish, which is crisp and mostly dry. Not an in-your-face brew, but very good and very drinkable.

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a one pint can on May 7, 2018. Canned on 04/02/18. Underrated in my opinion. This is a well made, highly quenchable golden ale.

I get where they're going with this if you've been at 1st Ave. Easy drinking, low alcohol, in a hot, sweaty venue. Better than a grain belt but not by much. Poundable.

Opague straw in color. Aromas and flavors are identical. Grassy, light malts and a bit tart. Mild bitterness on the finish but very subdued. Very crisp and dry.
